Thank you, @cabmonk , it absolutely will be better; at least I can move around and walk now. Just sitting, not being able to move about has been disastrous for me, and anything I ate just added on the weight. My DH did just about all the cooking for a couple of years and still loves doing it, but I have to take back control, hahaha...and cook leaner again. We both could use a lower calorie diet. So...onward!!

A smile for everyone this morning:

Yes, it's taken me that long; I was diagnosed with a "baker's cyst" behind my knee after my surgery and it took nearly a year for it to leave. At my 1 yr check-up, my surgeon could still feel a little still there. I'd never heard of it before and I hope I never encounter it again! So.....after 4 surgeries laid me low, I'm finally almost normal again!

So. I started behaving today, but the real work starts soon. We have our Grandson here for a week while the kids are at Secrets in Cancun, and I will be cooking healthy meals ( he enjoys cooking, also), but no cookies, no cake. He has other treats here that are healthier choices.

I'll be using MyFitnessPal which was successful before to track my foods.I can't exercize but I lost 50lbs between Christmas and May 14th before my fall, without exercizing, so I'll just have to do that again.

    Good luck to everyone!!!
We are here cheering for you! I use Myfitnesspal too and love it!

Thank you, @Frugalbigmama ; seems I've been whining and complaining for so long (3 years!Ugh!!) about not being able to walk, move around very well, and finally, a year after my last surgery...I CAN!! I'll also take more of the reigns wrt preparing dinners. My DH is a wonderful cook, but not always terribly diet-conscious.

Good luck to you and everyone else here on this journey with us!

I tried finding this thread a while ago, but I couldn’t remember the title properly. I’ve kept off my weight, with the exception of fluctuating within the same 4lbs. I’ve been struggling with various health problems, so I have to give myself some slack regarding my soft belly...but having twins certainly contributed to that. I’m waiting for an MRI & MRA, so we’ll wait and see what the results tell my specialists.

Nice to see some action here again. I am holding my own not lost since October but not gained any of the 35 pounds lost in the past two years. I am still following weigh watchers and they changed the program again, so that is my current excuse Time to get with the program and lost this last bit of weight.

    Good morning!!
@coupon girl , stress sure plays havoc with diets, doesn't it? Losing your Mom as well as your job would be enough to send anyone for comfort foods. If you're like me, that is. Why is comfort food so high in calories?!! Good luck with your journey on here.

Isn't it frustrating, @lilo0003 how WW changes their programs so often?! Now when searching for recipes I have to juggle Fast Start points with Smart points, and now Free whatever!! Which is why I'm back to fitnesspal. Counting calories. My DD and I figured out the calorie allotment for those WW points, as she was on ugenics a while back before a trip, and it worked out to about 1000 calories!! So yes, most people would lose weight on that!! WW is still calorie counting, just using smaller numbers. hahaha....I'm keeping between 800-1000 ish, and I'm eating well. Some days, yep, I go over which is fine, I have a cushion built-in for that. And I don't mean my butt!

Good luck, everyone...it's a new day, and we are determined to get healthy!!

Food humour for you this morning!

Good day! I am floating. So much water. I am usually good when working to drink lots of water but I started this week bringing my 24oz bottle to work and I empty it twice in the morning and then make sure to do it one more time in the afternoon and I am happy.

Ugh. @Frugalbigmama , that's something I really struggled with: drinking water. I drink tea, but DD says that's NOT the same thing, so for Christmas she bought me a Sodastream power sparkling water maker because I had said that it's the only 'type' of water I can drink. I love it!! I'm drinking more fizzy water, although I'm nowhere close to what you're consuming. I'll work my way up....I think... Good for you...it's supposed to really help weight loss, right?

Aw, @coupon girl , I'm so very sorry to hear of your Daughter's separation, but thank heavens she has you to talk to, to help out where you can, which I'm sure you do. Boy, you've really been dumped on in 2017, haven't you? Light some sage, and walk around the house with it to dispel those clouds. 2018 is going to be a much better year for you!! As for walking, you know, I never, ever believed that the simple act of walking for heaven's sake would do a single bit of good for weight-loss. That is, until DH and I took our eastern Mediterranean cruise, and had to walk on all those tours we took when we'd dock at various ports!! Then back in Rome and we'd walk all over the place, from the Colesseum all the way to the Spanish steps!! I wore mostly long dresses and skirts while we were there, so I never really noticed anything was going on. However, on the day we were packing to leave for home, know what happened?? I couldn't keep my slacks up!! The ones I wore when we flew over there!! I had to borrow one of my Husband's belts just to be decent!!

So, you go Lady!!! Go walking in your non-jiggly tight jogging pants, and lose weight and tone up! I envy you, but I'm hoping that come spring I'll be able to take Jenny for walks again. ALL the best luck, Sweets!!!

Well I used my lunch break to drive DS somewhere which I let him know I was disappointed I missed going to the gym. He reminded me that we have a gym in the basement and I have my treadmill! Yes! So no excuse tonight. I will walk and watch tv at one point tonight!

My Dad’s wife bought him a Sodastream for Christmas too.

I developed a water bottle habit in high school and it has stuck with me all these years. I drink water all day and milk with meals. If we go put to eat, I order a fresh lemon water. I don’t drink coffee or tea. I rarely drink pop or juice. We make our fruit smoothies from scratch when we have them.
