The "sorta" part is that DH and I split up on shopping day so that I loot and plunder Metro while he goes with a list to Walmart in order to save overall time. I told him about SCOPing and how one of my NY resolutions was to include SCOPing in my strategies. He said "but we hardly ever get overcharged." His entire list at Walmart this week was Pedigree Pal for our dogs. The large bag was $25 (price on shelf) with a $5 off coupon. When he went to the cashier, it rang in at $28. He SCOPed. They gave it to him for $15 -5 = $10. He is a convert. This week he wants to take one of each bag of dog and cat food to scan at the scanner/price checkers they have scattered throughout the store. I've created a monster. And all I can say is ..."Go monster! Go!"

Thanks all! This is heady stuff. I have to admit that I wonder if I have criminal tendencies...because I LOVE getting "away" with stuff. Like that commercial where the woman runs into the parking lot yelling to her waiting husband "Start up the car!" because she just got an unbelievable discount.

Lol, I need to be better at SCOP. I never do no I just let them fix the price. Maybe your DH can give me some courage. It's great when they are on board though. Makes saving so much easier.

Scanning Code Of practice. (SCOP )

What are the features of the Scanning Code of Practice? If the scanned price of a non-price ticketed item (an item with a barcode that doesn't have a price tag stuck to it) is higher than the shelf price or any other displayed price, the customer is entitled to receive the item free, up to a $10 maximum.

I loved it when a man bent over backward for his woman, in this case, what better way to show his love than to SCOP for a couponer. He is definitely a keeper !

That's awesome! All it takes is one time and you're hooked!

I got a huge box of King Cole tea (260bags) for .49 because of SCOP!! The old sale tag was on the shelf, and I asked someone who worked there if the tea was still on sale (I couldn't find it in the flyer). She put the box of tea in my cart.... gave me the sign... and said 'take that up to the cash and you will get it for .49' That's all I needed to hear!! She handed me the SCOP! haha

Very good he accidentally found the SCOP, but whatever he does, don't go and start on purpose scan and look for SCOP.

I find SCOP all the time, and get free as well, but this is only accidental, as I would NEVER go and scan a bunch of things just looking for free stuff.
