@ Ciel there are weekly personalized Air Miles offers that you can load directly to your Air Miles card. These offers are good for two weeks. I get two 50% off offers each week and additional bonus points offers. They are pretty good at reflecting my shopping habits.

Good idea. I should write out a list of the items in the bottom freezer of my fridge and then plan to use them up. I want it empty!!! The chest freezer is full too but it is mainly meat and I have been planning meals from there.

Tonight I am making homemade burgers. It is just me tonight for dinner so I will make all the burgers and cook them all. I will have 1 with salad for dinner myself. I will serve the others burgers and salad tomorrow night

I am also going to cook up some of the beef with spices and make quesidias with it for the kids lunches this week. I usually make with chicken but the oldest asked me to make with ground beef so I will do so!

[QUOTE=Ciel;6744936 Have to ask about the OJ jugs in the freezer-is there sufficient airspace in the jugs that the juice does not force the caps off when the juice is frozen?[/QUOTE]

I take some out of each container before I freeze them and leave the cap somewhat loose and retiten after frozen, if they were in a carton (like a milk carton) then you don't need to worry.

@sweet sparrow I don't know how it works with respect to expenses when they are needed when working for an employer for things such as a cellphone, etc. I do know that there is a T2200 which dh use to get when he was a plumber. He could claim expenses (work boots, tools, etc). I'm sure there must be something but I'm sure it would involve your dh's employer signing the form which from what you've said they most likely would not be willing to sign.

Here is a search I did on Canada Revenue Canada agency re: cellphones

Most of you know that I'm really bothered by DH's finances so I wouldn't want to make that the focus. I know the amount that he spends on work related material is well over five figures and he did not get five figures back. I'll have a look at it again tomorrow.
One small step at a time, for all of us. My husband's amazing financial skills landed us $500 short at the end of the year. Which means his management of receipt submission was off. I let him know the discrepancy and he looked at me like . Fortunately, we were able to cover the cost personally. The transparent budget is our goal so this does not happen again. We have Everydollar for personal and a simple spreadsheet for work/church expenditure that we will go over monthly. You are not alone AND you are doing great.

Since I redeemed for groceries and saved at SDM this weekend, I bought some easy bake M&M meals for the week. We did a menu this week too!
Tonight - GF Chicken fingers, rice and corn
    Tuesday - Tacos
    Wednesday - DH working leftovers
    Thursday - GF Meatballs
    Friday - DH working leftovers
Saturday - GF Burgers and Salad
    Sunday - TBD, visiting family

Made and cooked 12 burger patties. Ate 1 and 11 cooling on counter. Cooked up ground beef so it ready to make nachos/ quesidias.
Kitchen is almost clean. Have pan soaking.
Booked a free hotel room for March break. Swimming, hot tub and free food. Thinking I may let DS bring a friend.

    Morning everyone,

Dh asked what I wanted for Valentine's day and I said a night off from cooking . So I will call our order into Pizza hut and he will pick up on his way home. You pay full price for 1st medium or large then get up to 3 pizzas for $5 each....yippee...

Just waiting for the 2nd load of laundry to finish so I can hang up downstairs.

Wishing everyone a fabulous Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I have finally caught up with everyone's post since last Friday. What a super stressful 3 1/2 days! My son broke his right arm last Friday afternoon. He fell hard on the hardwood floor from the bouncy yoga ball (that my kids use for bouncing - they sit on it and bounce, but this time he tried to stand on it). Within a few minutes of him falling, I knew that there was something wrong. Within 30 minutes of him falling, I was getting ready to take him to the hospital. By 4:32 pm, we were already lined up at the Triage to register. By 7:50 pm, we were waiting to be seen by an ER doctor. By 8:10 pm, doctor saw my son and said it looks like it is sprained. But since you are already here, might as well order an x-ray. By 8:45 pm, doctor came back and said, it is broken at the upper arm close to the shoulder joint. But, cannot put a cast on it, too high in the arm for cast. By 9:30 pm, we were out of the hospital with a bandana sling on his arm.

enjoy your night off J and C!

It is supposed to be 15 here today so that sounds like a nice Valentine treat-maybe something on the BBQ for dinner! Off to drop DD at school and then watch the 2 year old twin boys-will take them out to the park and enjoy this nice weather while it lasts.
