Once you finish driving school they advise the MTO that you are done, that is how you can do the G2 at 8 months. Otherwise its a year before you can try for the G2. The cost of the road test was included in the amount you paid when you wrote the G1 test. I have an almost 17 yr old and we are doing this now, of course he has access to our vehicles so the driving is easier but it is not cheap.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Thank you very much, I wish I knew someone who was going through this as well but unfortunately I do not, I don't even know anyone with a vehicle : (
Anywho, so I can start G2 8 months after my G1, ok.
If I don't pass, how long do I have to pass G2 before everything expires and I have to start from G1 all over again? is that until my G1 expires?-the amount of time I have left?
-Thank you

Yes, thank you, I just asked Drive Test center and they said the same thing, that you have until your G1 expires to complete your G2...and I assume it's also the same for G since all of them are good for 5 years. /Thank you : )

I have a question. Since I finished driving school I am able to take my G2 within 8 months. But what about my G licence? do I have 8 months wait for that too? or do I have to take driving school again to get that time shortened? (becuase that would really really really suck..

G2 road test
This is the second of two road tests you take as a new driver.
- you can take the test after 12 months with a G2 licence
- the test covers more advanced driving skills (e.g., driving on a highway, parallel parking)
- once you pass, you get a full G licence

I'm so glad I had my UK drivers license and was able to just switch to a Quebec one without any hassle(in 2000). Not sure if it's the same now.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

I have a question about the restrictions for each licence type...
the restrictions for each licence(G1,G2,G) is that only for people aged 19 and under?
for example, G2 restrictions: 0 alcohol and each person must have a seat belt "in addition" you cannot drive between 5am-12am.
but all of these only say if you are "19 and under"So, does that mean if I am over 19 years old I do not have to follow those rules?I'm starting to see that most of these restrictions are only for people aged 19 and under..Is this true?

G2 licence
After passing your G1 road test, you get a G2 licence. You practice with your G2 licence for 12 months. You can now drive:
- without another experienced driver in the car
- on all Ontario roads
- at any time of the day, in most cases
You must still:
- have a zero blood alcohol level
- carry only as many passengers as there are working seatbelts
If you are 19 and under, some other restrictions still apply.
G2 drivers: 19 and under
Between midnight and 5 a.m.: you can only drive with one passenger who is 19 or under in your car.
This condition applies for the first six months of G2. After six months, you can drive with up to three passengers 19 or under between midnight and 5 a.m.
This condition does not apply, if:
- you have a fully licensed driver in the car (with four years plus experience driving)
- your passengers are immediate family members (e.g., a parent, brother or sister)

So, I guess none of this applies to me because I am not 19, I can drive at all hours of the day, without experienced driver, although I would still prefer to have someone just to guide me from time to time...but that's good, I thought I would have the same restrictions as younger people.
(I completed my G1 and will be going for my G2) it is 8 months with driving school yes? don't have to wait full 12.
there's so many restrictions and things it's hard to keep track of, I did read through this part of the book, I just wanted to make sure. I don't want to make any mistakes

I'm just wondering if the N sticker is actually a sticker or something attached the the plate? Does anyone know, I'm not sure how this works or what I can do, can I just go online and purchase a "new driver" sticker whatever kind I can find and place it on my windshield? or does it go on the bumper? does it matter where I put it?
