I know there's a name for them but they're basically... well, knock off Wii remotes! Has anyone used them? I want to get a couple for the kids so they'll leave the good ones alone. Just wondering if it's worth it or if I should spend the extra to get the real ones.

I bought one a long time ago, I believe it is called Intec.
At the 3 month point, it was messing up my games; for instance, when I wanted to move left, it moved right. When it got to 6 months, it completely stopped working. I would never buy another one of those again. It is just complete waste of money.
I bought the official Nintendo wii-mote last year for 10$, and it still works perfectly fine now.Last edited by MangoFruit; Sun, Dec 11th, 2011 at 12:14 PM.

Thanks! That's what I'm worried about. Where did you get a real one for 10 bucks??

I don't buy the knock offs. I had bought from that company the wii board rechargeable battery pack Completely fried my board after a couple of months.
There will probably be sales on the remotes around Christmas. Ours are two years old and they still work perfectly.

My kids are so HARD on them though and they've already busted one I guess I'll just bite the bullet and get the good ones!

Walmart has it on sale last year for their Boxing day special. They sold out when I got there on Boxing day at 6 am. So I just price match it with Best buy.
It was the pink and blue wii-mote with the motion plus.
If you're lucky, you might be able to get a knock off from Walmart for 5$. They had a sale about 2 months back that they sold knock off wii mote + nunchucks for 5$. People are still reporting that they are still seeing some of the product there.
Also, if you're not in a rush, I think you should wait till boxing day or maybe a next week, since it tends to be cheaper by that time.I've gotten more than 300$ of gift cards. You can also do so by joining swagbucks:

You can buy a real wii-mote w/ motion plus from the US BestBuy for 7.99. It also includes a game. This is a steal. I don't know how much it will cost for shipping to Canada, but still at 7.99 you can't really go wrong.I've gotten more than 300$ of gift cards. You can also do so by joining swagbucks:

I can't remember the price now but I just saw wii motes on clearance at Costco to make room for the black ones. So definitely check there if you're a member.
