Just wanted to do an update on my dad is it almost a year since he had a massive heart attack. He is doing well, in all of our eyes. He's alive!!! But for him he is not. He can't work yet. He is a go getter and always has been. He was gonna work until he was 75. He is 63 this June. The operation itself on his heart was successful, the funny thing is it is his leg that they took the vein for the bypass out that is giving him trouble. But he is moving and goes to the gym religiously now 4 times a week. He just wants to work so bad, driving his garbage truck. But he can't with a numb leg. I feel bad for him but at the same time glad he is here. It's still a bit of recovery to go they say, but to me, he's driving, doesn't ask for help anymore for groceries and things, only walks with a cane in a big store, and even wants to start skating again and playing baseball. He's doing well in all of our eyes, it's better than not having him at all I tell him. Here is a picture of him recently during the baseball season.
Thanks again for all your well wishes. I really believe mind over matter..

Your dad looks so wonderful @TudorChick !! I hope he soon gets his wish and can work once again, for anyone that is accustomed to being on the go it is torture to be idle. Also he has GREAT taste in ball clubs! ha ha

Thank You. Ha Ha. He has been a Blue Jay fan as long as I can remember. And an Oiler fan. And we all know how hard it can be to be fans of the oilers sometimes...But he's loyal to his teams just like my papa was (my grandpa was a montreal canadien fan and a yankee fan for life)

So glad that your dad has come along so well. Ball season starts soon so maybe he can turn his mind to uplifting things. Sorry that his leg has been an issue. But as you say- he's here to share wonderful times with you and your family. My dear husband's favourite saying was, "Enjoy the Ride." Sometimes the ride gets a little bumpy.

Just One more Final Update about my Dad on this thread. He is doing so well, his leg where they took the artery has improved to where it is not painful anymore, he is biking and golfing and fishing and doing things he loves to do.
My sister who lives in Ontario just gifted him last week a trip to Toronto which he has never been to see a Blue Jays game and to see the Hockey Hall Of Fame. A dream trip for him. He was in his element, and is so happy. I am so thankful for everyone's prayers and thoughts during that time, i felt I should update you all.
Thank you so much. From the bottom of our hearts, we really truly believe that positive generates positive. Here's some photos of my Dad in his trip to Toronto.
