After visiting Value Village last night, I went to Lowes to pick different shades of cream/French Vanilla paint cards from three paint lines (mostly Sherwin Williams, 1 Para and 2 Valspar choices). This morning, I've taped the cards to 3-ring binder pages and put those pages on the west wall. I intend to move the pages to each wall to see which shades look best no matter what time of day. It seems fairly obvious to me that there are 3 cards really close to what I wanted however I'd like to ensure they can show that hint of warm cream at any time of day. Too washed out-not going to make my top 3 list. I also was able to see a few semi flushmount ceiling lights (future living room lighting update-this year I hope) in the Lighting aisle. Most of the online choices I liked are online only items. So it was helpful to see the light output from the lit display models in the store. Also took a quick look at door mats-they are near the paint section at back but I spotted two printed coir mats at end of lightbulb aisle where it meets main entrance aisle.

Laundered my knit shirt find from VV last night and it'll be ready to wear this week. Could not pass up the silver grey and black ribbed shirt with Outback logo. Must be a souvenir shirt, not staff shirt from the Outback restaurant chain.

Going to do another can walk on the way to a Rexall store. Would love a pack of the stamps on sale! Must get this errand done before the afternoon rain makes a sponge out of me.

Got an email from Airmiles yesterday....the daily limit for using Cash miles has been changed from $50/day to $100/day excepting use at Shell which is $60/day.

Noticed that the Air Miles e-mail indicates program still prevents Cash rewards from being spent on gift cards and near cash cards (aka prepaid credit cards). And cards must be used for redemptions.

Got my stamp pack at Rexall, one 88cent Colgate toothpaste (the endcap near cash only had one kind but the regular oral care aisle had a few varieties) and random bonus find, a big tube of the discontinued Be. Better white tea and quince lotion-there was a clearance display in the aisle where the licorice and some bagged candy were (and I had to walk past candy). The lotion was not in the more obvious clearance display of personal care items near cash. Then within 3 min of leaving the store, a downpour with some hail (bus shelter is around the corner from the plaza so I waited out the rain/hail there).

Cashed in my empties at my local beer store.

In town on the main street, some sporadic rain. Go to my local Shoppers for lottery (I missed the butter sale yesterday). Downpour two starts while I discover no lotto luck. Hail falls as I exit store. I must have spent 15min waiting for the rain/thunder to subside enough to scoot to a bus shelter a half block away and wait out the remaining rain.

My navy pants' pockets have proven valuable so I did not have to lug all my personal stuff in the two jacket pockets. But pants sort of sag, thus I must get a belt to lift the pants up. I do not have any interest in taking in my pant seams and waistband again. I have to wear these pants. This morning, I tossed out my old navy pants-been great, they are lighter (no spandex) but I wore the inseams almost out and the hems were sad as well).
Sibling cooked ground beef and made tacos and left me some filling, sauce, shredded cheese and two shells. Only waited a month and half for tacos since I had replaced his kit (I had snacked on the sauce and tortilla shells).

As I had done some shopping today, I was unable to buy the Compliments veggie burgers for $5.99 (I had 5.70 left at that point). Instead, I got two different Compliments ice cream cups, the regular size and the mini cups as there is still ice cream in the house. Noticed that the store was doing sampling again at the meat dept and in the snack area by the ice cream cup display.

Managed to put a Wendys takeout bag to good use-I collected several water bottles and drink cups on my walk for the garbage can.

I'm almost done weeding my pea patch. I'm needing do the last of my planting this week, before it really is too late. I want to plant the peas, hence weeding it thoroughly.
Tonight's supper is oven baked chicken drumsticks, baked potatoes with fresh dill, and fresh broccoli. I'm also planning on baking a small peach crisp to use up the old peaches.

I need to work on meal planning in advance, I haven't really been doing so since my surgery.

A different friend of mine was given a lot of baby girl clothes, way more than her daughter will use, so she dropped of 2 garbage bags of 18-24m clothes. I wasn't expecting nearly that much. She plans on going through her bins of larger girl clothes and dropping off the extras for us to go through. She was very specific that she doesn't want any back and that we can do what we want with them. I've already sorted them and Dh has the laundry going. I always re-wash anything that we get, our children have sensitive skin. My friend was talking about baby girl dresses, so I quickly grabbed a cute floral one that our baby had outgrown. Our girls are 1yr apart in age and nearly shared a birthday.

Productive day yesterday. We are both off today (Monday)with the plans of getting many items scratched off the to do list and then a drive to casino to pick up free purse we each get (promo) (save for Christmas gift for older niece's) and free dinner. Instead of a drive to the beach today we tackled many items on the list. Then while he cooked dinner (Chicken Tetrazini) I cleaned the diningroom from top to bottom. We are doing the same in family room tomorrow morning . (And here I am wide awake and can't sleep at 330 am! ) Better try and sleep now ☺

The four teaching contracts that I applied for last week are no longer posted on their websites. Job postings typically aren't removed until the position has been filled. I wasn't interviewed. It's discouraging, but I'll continue looking for more positions to apply for. In the meantime, I'll continue to try to get more daycare kids in order to help me pay our bills.

I made a medium sized pot of hamburger veggies soup with pearl barley in it. We ate it for lunch, there are some leftovers in the fridge, and a yogurt container for the freezer.

I'll need to print a couple of coupons and prepare a little list for Dh to go shopping at Sobeys tonight. It's extremely rare for me to do that, but Dh didn't enjoy going shopping with all of us at NF last week. Hopefully he actually brings home the receipt for me.

@coupon girl -pretend you have to avoid chills/drafts, so keep a/c off and try to stick to warm/room temp foods. Mom was bundled up despite humid weather when she returned from her overseas trip. The ambient warmth from your house should help you recover from the bronchitis when you avoid cold rooms/a/c. You and Dh deserve your upcoming summer getaway time.
Mom's eased off on some layering but tonight, she heard me said it's chilly after the rain so she put a big coat on. She has bread to bake on the BBQ tonight. Wish she did it earlier before the rain-we have to work on her time management as putting things off for later has not been good for getting things done before weather changes or if it gets dark.
Not sure how our mall outing after appt. tomorrow will go. I know the mall has reduced a/c and lighting levels-they will help with the keeping comfortable aspect but I am skeptical we'll walk a lot unless I leave her to explore a dept. store while I go to the shops where I need some specials. Plan on seeing Mall Rd. Fortinos for their produce assortment-I decided not to go into my local store today-to see where I should buy fresh produce. Will pack my small square PC tote plus take the insulated cooler bag for frozen items from MMFood Market.

Took a look at the lettuce plants and the green ones have grown! The red ones are struggling because flowering plants are blocking some sun access. Definitely need to do some weeding tomorrow afternoon and maybe clip the first batch of green lettuce. One rose bush's flowers are struggling after the rains so I deadheaded the spent flowers and hope to see a couple of branches bounce back tomorrow. Have one kind of flower that is pernicious in spreading in the front bed so it has to be removed from most of the spread zones. The new pansies in the flower pot have managed to keep their floral heads so far...they add some lively colour.

What fun to see that the eaves cannot deal with heavy rain. Meaning there are needles jamming the openings/whisk insert again, going by the waterfalls over the edge. Sigh.

Noticed on Twitter that Northern Maverick Brewery makes Fake News Ale. Not sold at the Beer Store or LCBO (could not find it in searches). 5 cents from each can sold will go to EgaleCanada. Guess whose caricature is on the can?

@Angela 273 -I've noticed at Food Basics if I buy only one or two items, the cashier does not always ensure the receipt is given to me. Guess some customers dash off when they scoop their few items so some cashiers just reach for receipts and toss them. I try to remember to get the receipt most times (I've not always asked for it but sometimes I have to). Totally understand the receipt thing-plus sometimes there is a survey or news item on the receipt to take notice of. It usually helps if I know the cashier and we have a short chat to find out how the other person is doing/what's new with him or her. Shoppers is another store where the receipts may not be given esp. if receipt printing is lagging several seconds after payment is taken and entered.

Our Sobeys location is good at giving the receipt, Dh is the one that tosses it. We were discussing it and I think I'm going to go to Sobeys by myself. There isn't much on my list and what I am getting isn't heavy. I'll use a small cart. The migraine and vertigo is gone. I'm allowed to lift up to 15lbs now.

Absolutely wonderful baby news - that's just fabulous!

Oh, but so sorry you are sick - bronchitis is a bugger. Do you have a cool mist humidifier? That's always worked wonders for me in the bedroom.

Glad your husband is recognized by the kids - we always gifted our son's bus drivers well, because they were mostly all good ones!

I had a potential daycare parent contact me again this evening. I'm going to email him a contract. He wants full-time childcare for his little boy for July and August.

Dh decluttered in the kitchen while I helped our son purge in his bedroom. My neighbour has brought over a lot of clothes that I need to sort through. It saves us a lot of money, but it also takes a lot of work to keep things organized. I tackled three loads of laundry for the twins. I'll need to take smaller clothes out of their dressers again, and move in these "new" clothes. I also boxed up more clothes for the next garage sale.

Our son amd I watered the garden after supper. The areas that I have weeded since my surgery look pretty good, other areas have weeds as tall as the veggies that I'm trying to grow. I remind myself to just pick some weeds each day and not to overdo it. My garden won't be the best, but we love to watch it grow. Nothing compares to fresh garden veggies.
