Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. We had a great long weekend entertaining and went to our fav beach/arcade. I remember my dad taking us as kids so I love taking mine there (except the teen hasn't been in years since he has been working so will have to get him out there with us at least once this summer. After entertaining friends we decided to have my mom for dinner last night. My sister was up too so it was nice to see my little niece. I bought a gingerbread house with all the candy etc after Christmas for her to decorate this summer since it didn't expire till Sept. It was a hit. She really loved it.

i am so happy with my clean house. We have really been keeping on top of it. The fridge is full of leftovers so no cooking tomorrow. Went to No Frills today and bought pineapple, eggs and bananas then bread at SDM for $1. They put reduced stickers on them days before expiry which is nice. We really didn't need much.

Now just get this work week over! Hopefully it goes by quickly.

@Frugalbigmama - the kit idea-way to go! It really helps kids to know they have something to do when visiting at another person's home.

Last night I found out what happens when Mom and I don't discuss specific $ amounts for mailing a package. I sent photos the cheapest way-surface-after going to the library to print a necessary customs form from the CP site . Mom now thinks it'll be 6 months before the package reaches my aunt. Actually CP indicates 1-2 months. I cannot mind read. Of the 6 mailing options, the highest priced one was $79. Uh no.

US celebrates its birthday today. It'll be quieter for some workplaces in Canada as a result.
@momof5boys -I am not taking omega 3 supplements but do know that omega is in hemp seeds, which I eat semi-regularly; the seeds also provide fatty acids which are good for eyes to counter dryness plus protein (I don't eat enough protein) . Does your bone MD supplement have magnesium? Calcium has to be paired with magnesium to keep blood vessels flexible.

DS has the early hockey game tonight which is nice and means we will be home by 7. Lots of time to do laundry/tidy up etc.

The leftovers should do him for lunch tomorrow too while I am at work. He can just heat and eat when he is hungry. Will take something out tonight for tomorrow nights dinner. Will see what I find. I know I still have about 10 bags of perogies in my mothers freezer so will be making a full bag for sure so the kids can eat those for leftovers too. They need to be used up.

My grass is looking great this year. Funny how some years it is crap and others great. I haven't watered it yet (I guess that is the good thing about too much rain- nice grass)

I will have to take a picture of my old lawnmower and post it for sale tonight. We need it out of the shed so we can move the new one in there from the garage. That is the 1 thing on my list I want to get done for sure tonight!

@Ciel and @momof5boys You also need enough vitamin D to help with calcium absorption. I learned some other things while pregnant with our twins. Vitamin C helps with the absorption of iron. Calcium and iron together will hinder the absorption of both nutrients, calcium and iron. I know a retired teacher who tqkes both iron and calcium supplements, but she makes sure to take them hours apart.

I made a home made lasagne last night for supper, lots leftover for tonight. I fried up an entire warehouse pack of lean ground beef, I packaged and froze about 2/3 of it and use the rest in the 9x13" lasagne. Our son had fun helping me assemble it. We also mixed up s box of brownies and baked that 8x8" pan at the same time. I made two box brownies in the last month. I preferred the No Name brand vs the PC brand, plus it was $1 cheaper. We have central air and the entire 10 day forecast is pure sun with highs of 28-36C. We need to water my garden daily and the grass will need some help or else it won't feel very nice for the kids to play on. Today is the first day with my new summer daycare boy. My daycare girl will return tomorrow morning.

We are were just saying yesterday that we should make a lasagna soon. Probably not till September lol But if we get a cool stretch it may be on the menu sooner. I also want to make a tray of homemade mac and cheese for my youngest. It is his favourite and something great to have in the freezer to thaw and heat up quick.

Good points about the mineral absorption. Then technically, cheeseburgers should not be eaten given the iron/calcium duo in that food item as both Fe and Ca are present and won't be absorbed well.

oh @coupon girl how awful! Both about you being so burdened with bronchitis again and losing then your orthotic runners! Were they inserts that you had that fit into the shoes or actual orthotic shoes? I know how costly they are. Hope the meds start to get you feeling better!

Not much happening here now since the Jays game is over.....but THEY WON!!! Third game tomorrow, lets hope we take that one too!

I'm hoping my new daycare boy settles in soon, today was rough. I had the kids outside with the water table for nearly 2hrs before supper. We had leftover lasagne for supper.

I went shopping at Sobeys this evening. $21.xx oop after $70 in AM, $5 in coupons, 2 rain checks, personal AM offers, 10% off, earned 67AM, $1.50 Zweet, $1.50 CO51. I earned a total of $8 back from CO51 this week, which is a lot for me.

I folded two big baskets of clothes after the kids were in bed, I'm hoping to get the kids clothes put away tomorrow. I have a load of towels in the dryer, which I can easily put away tomorrow.

Morning! Hump day already! I need to do laundry tonight!

The fridge is full still but needs to be cleaned out. I know there are a few containers that need to be tossed. Will do that tonight.

The sunshine is nice today- would have been a nice day off!
