Dangers of BBQ brushes
We have been warned about the dangers of BBQ brushes ,with the wire bristles getting stuck in peoples throats and causing allot of harm. I threw mine out and just use a nylon scrubby that worked well enough. Has anyone else gotten rid of this hazard ? please do if you have not yet.

Ours has been gone for ages as we use a stone to clean our grill. My hubby's aunt spent 12 hours at the hospital last weekend getting a piece of wire from a wire grill brush removed from her throat after eating a hamburger.

This year I got the bamboo scraper it may not clean as well as a wire brush but none of my kids will have to worry about eating and bits of wire

o.k. I had never even knew about this danger but tbh, we don't really use our BBQ much at all. That being said I will make sure that I toss out our brush and tell DH about this danger. ty for posting

The lady who recently had her son in the ER is from my town. Saw it on the news. I now don't use mine and I tried the Gordon Ramsay Onion and lemon thing, seemed to work. As long as you keep your grill going after cooking for a few minutes and cleaning it after instead of letting the bits stick on like i was, it's easy to remove with onion, lemon or even oil and a cloth.
