    So I talked to ei today as I need to start applying for my mat leave benefits as I have just been on holidays from work? The thing I don't understand is that the new parental benefits come in effect on dec.3 was hoping I could take advantage of the 18 month leave lady on the phone figured I couldn't( she was still unsure how everything is to work as she just got into today). This I don't understand as I will still be on the maternity benefit and not the parental leave yet.
    Should just phone on Tuesday again and see what they say or just be happy with the yr
