Customer service has stated they are finishing up a database maintenance and everyone should see their accounts restored soon.

I dont know anything about it, to be honest, but apparently it happens every new year's day to reset the birthday perks, tier levels, etc. (I'm regurgitating what I've heard from a friend and what I've read by doing a bit of googling).
Someone I know says her points are back now, but the $ spent tracker is not, but probably will be in the next day or so (based on previous experience)
Now, on the other hand, if they havent used their account (either added or redeemed points) in a period of time (18 months) then they lose all your points, but I'd find it extremely coincidental that BOTH your girls had it happen at the same time, and today of all days.

I know both of the m have purchased in the past month.. so they should be good. :) freaked the 2 of them out though.. lol.

It is illegal for points to expire now, at least in Ontario. I don't think a national brand would implement different rules in different province. Some companies, such as David's Tea, force you to cash out by end of year. But I don't think anyone is deleting points.
