I like the Sick Notes part. I don't always go to my family doctor, when I am sick & clog up the system. Can't even get his appointment for months !

And the walk-in clinics are pretty useless, they see me for 2 minutes, bill my health card to the government & give me a tylenol & send me on my way. After waiting 3-4 hours in their clogged up waiting room.

Often with natural home remedies & proper diet and 3-4 days rest, I feel much better. I stay away from Pharmaceuticals/ Anti Biotics as far as possible.

Sometimes you have to stay home if you are a coughing, weeping, living for tissues mess at work. Smaller workplaces tend to have bosses not super keen to have a sick person around.

I saw the news about what Tim Horton's workers can expect in terms of pay regarding scheduled hours and no more paid breaks. I'd be livid if I had a 4h shift and was not paid for all four hours. This 3h 45min paid time nonsense is not going to make coffee shop lines move fast at all. Lack of staff is sure to be noted soon.

And what is not likely mentioned-store managers may still have direction as to where workers spend their breaks. When I was in a bookstore, staff had a 15min break in the staff room as it was a before store hours shelving shift and it was winter and freezing outside in the morning. Usually we did not get have breaks for 3h or 4h shifts--but what if I'd wanted to spend those 15min somewhere else? Bet that is what Tim Horton's workers are going to find out.
