I went to the women’s event/convention last night and most of today. There were lots of door prizes. I won the second last doorbprize, which is free admission to next year’s event which has an approximate value of $80. My admission was paid by someone else this year.

I have decided I am not doing anything today. I can admit my house desperately needs attention, we need to go grocery shopping but I need a day off. I have worked the last 5 or 6 weekends and I have been pulling over 60 hours a week for 3 weeks now and I am just feeling done. My stress level is through the roof and my emotions are all over the place, the smallest things right now can drive me over the edge.
I had a melt down earlier this week when the laptop we use for editing stopped working right in the middle of our large project. Luckily once I calmed down a little I called and got an appointment to have it looked at the next day as well Dad had me and his assistant look into replacing it. After getting a quote to fix it, we are having it fixed as compared to replacing the cost to fix is very minimal. Hopefully I should be able to pick up Monday or Tuesday and we can get back to it. Luckily the girl I am working with has 1 of the programs needed so she is still working well I wait for the laptop to be done.
Tomorrow we are celebrating Dad's birthday, I am supposed to take a Dessert or Appetizer but I have no idea what to make. Normally I make Cheesecake but my Sister emailed she wants to do the Cheesecake this time. I thought about doing an appetizer but I cannot think of one I do not need the oven for or doesn't contain something one of my brothers won't eat.
Now we are trying to figure out how to get done everything we need to do tomorrow. We need to do some shopping but we literally need to go all over the place. I need to go to Costco but I am worried it is going to be too cold to leave some of the items we need in the car well I go to Dad's.
In other news this week after I went and dropped the laptop off for repair on the way home I decided to stop and get my hair cut as it was getting way too long. It was nice to do something for me.
Hoping things will slow down a little bit soon although it will still be busy at work as I have a new trainee and I am covering 2 co workers in the up coming weeks so things will still be all over the place work wise.
Off to pinterest to try to find inspiration for something I can take with me tomorrow. Have a great night everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
follow along as tackle day to day life and whatever else 2021 throws at me:

It started out as a normal day and made arrangements to meet up for a sale of an item at the end of my shop. I didn't notice dropping my cell phone under the car and lost about two hours looking for it. Actually, more than two hours since I will have to spend tomorrow morning giving the girls a bath as they missed today's, plus their laundry for the school/daycare week.
I left a note in the first world problem section about my silly episode, but couldn't enjoy DD1 trying to cheer me up by singing her songs. I was too distracted that I lost my work phone and what that would mean work-wise. Now that it has been found, I've lost the time to make anything that takes much time for the potluck. I will have to bring cut up fruit or a simple tapioca pudding. I suppose rice krispie squares aren't out of the question and DH has thoroughly inspected every box of food in the basement before consumption. The cardboard boxes go straight to recycling just in case.
At the potluck, I hear a friend is bringing clothes that DD2 can wear. She desperately needs pants, but doesn't fit into any that DD1 used to wear. DD1 was heavily cloth diapered until 2 at daycare, while DD1 is not. The large bottoms that DD1 used to wear, slide off DD2 and she fits into 3 - 6 month pants even though they look ridiculously short on her.
I keep hesitating on buying clothes because we get them unexpectedly and I don't want to be stuck with a full set of clothes I didn't need to purchase.
Today, I used a PM on chicken. It was $71.84 but $32.07 after the PM. Then I received 200 points/$ spent on poultry, but the points are calculated on the pre-PM price, so it was a return of 14,800 points. I have three club packs of boneless, skinless chicken. I think I should reconsider getting that small freezer.

I’m starting to declutter as well, I started with the hall closet and the laundry room. Next is my drawers, where did all the stuff come from? I have bags and bags of socks, I put them in bags, one for whites, one for grey, one for black and one for dressy socks! I don’t do socks anymore, after 30years I’m done!!

I also found tons of socks, enough to last a lifetime while decluttering.
Last night we had Giant Tiger breaded wings....omg they were delicious, about 17 of them for $10. Way better tasting than the Pinty ones at Loblaws. Spent a lot at GT, it's my weakness - great prices on fruits and vegetables, Easter candy, etc. I would be in trouble if one was within walking distance 😄

@barbis9 I don't have a GT close but I do find the food prices great. DH loves wings and I try stop in at GT when I am at my moms so I will get some next time I am there.
Finally caught up on the wash. The new machine has a bigger capacity and a water sensor. I expect we will see both hydro and water costs saved as a result. Talk about lost time @sweet sparrow I sent 4 hrs waiting for delivery and it came at the last possible moment. So today will be a day if getting stuff done at home and getting ready for the week.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

@cath007 -great deal on the Nescafe coffee! I was looking at which kinds of Nescafe are on sale for $3.99 at Shoppers this weekend and I saw Taster's Choice included (reg. $8.99). If I had not purchased the $3.99 Maxwell House last week, I could have obtained the Nescafe Taster's Choice classic. Oh well, no extra money for stocking up on coffee.
Yesterday, I managed to spend $2.50 on a grilled chicken snack wrap to have with my free hot chocolate at McDonalds and spent $7 at Sobeys (unsweetened Kraft peanut butter and a large Ceres tetra box of peach juice-$1.99 on sale-no taxes on either item). Then I did a long can walk and collected $1 in containers. Off to Fortinos for a 2L Coke (1.10 total).
Today's can walk earned me $3.10 (I also found a dime). I spent 5 cents on a plastic bag, $2.10 for a bean burrito to go with my free soft taco at Taco Bell (did a receipt survey to get the code for the free taco) and visited Millers on the Mountain. Found out there is a Darn Tough brand of socks (tennis sock style or up to crew length, various colours) that has a warranty to never wear out-$24.95 per pair that is a merino wool/nylon/spandex blend. I definitely need a pair for next winter, considering my sock losses this year! Fabricland-I actually saw some on-trend fabrics in the store and I spotted a $6.09 pair of buttons for Mom's jacket except I'm short on funds for buying them today. Some good March sewing deals-really good idea to look at patterns. I found out by signing up for e-mails, this Sunday-Tuesday, an e-mail coupon gives customers McCalls patterns for $6.40 each. Will see if it works as that e-mail went out on March 17 (per sign on the door).
Seems I am the only Valerian sci-fi movie fan on the Mountain-I was the only one watching the movie at the library today. No popcorn-I ate some mini candy canes.
Ms. Sunshine is still beaming on Hamilton. Looking forward to finding more treasure on my walk home.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Denningers on Upper James still has March Burda Style issues (April issue has not come in). Was surprised to see that the magazine issues have dropped from $15 per issue to $12 now. That's great news!

Hopefully a great opportunity for me, but not certain yet.
I applied for a job for the Brock Food First Program (Brock Food Bank) for this coming school term (September 2018), I got a call back within about a half hour asking when I am available for an interview. I'm going in tomorrow at 2:30pm. The position is as the coordinator of the food bank, and everyone that I have told thus far believes based on my couponing experience, I should have no problem getting the job!! It pays $14.50/hr for 12 to 15 hours a week.
Also trying to get a job for this spring/summer class term (maybe two, not sure yet). Our local Mcdonald's is hiring for the spring/summer for mornings, since I have class 5-7pm and 7-9pm only, I could probably pick up a few hours here and there easily enough. Also applied for a Marker-Grader position for a second year accounting course, paying a whopping $19.02/hr (since I am a third year student), it won't be many hours since the spring classes don't have that much work to grade, but any little extra helps!!
Based on some quick math, I think I can pull in $10,000 over the next year with McDonalds & Marker for the Spring/Summer (Until Septmber) and the food bank coordinator from September until April...Last edited by johnb56789; Sun, Mar 18th, 2018 at 05:05 PM.
