I should say not. Possibly a glitch in their system?
Thanks....I was wondering if this was part of the tax the chips 'something' I thought I heard about recently.
You say you "just noticed"? I'm curious how you didnt pick up on a $14.94 charge for a $5.94 purchase.
Take them back for sure!
No way ! Definitely and error in the system or they scanned or wrongly entered something else. or pressed some wrong buttons.
I think Food Basics is in ON only & not in other provinces. So the max you should have paid on it , is 13 % HST.
So $ 0.77 = 77 cents - 13 % HST on $ 5.94
Can you upload a pic of your receipt?
Call them and tell them. There can't be a 200% tax on anything
