$26 and some change today.
I got 3 pairs of shorts for my son (new quiksilver with tags on, lightly used nike and old navy), also 2 shirts that looked brand new, one was oneill and the other was volcom, both of those would be well over 100 for both. I ended it off with a nice dress for myself, it was a suzy shier for a buck.

I found one of my favourite picture books at a Mission Thrift Store for 25 cents! "Sitting on the Farm" is written by Canadian author Bob King and is a hilarious story with repeated text and lots of opportunities for young children to join in with the repetitions. Since this book is no longer in print, I'm super happy to have found a copy!

And today I found the picture book "Mortimer" by Canadian author Robert Munsch at a yard sale for 25 cents! "Clang, clang, rattle, bing, bang, gonna make my noise all day . . ." Another fun book with repeated text that young children love!

I haven't thrift shopped in years but am in desperate need of summer clothes and regular shopping is extremely exhausting so decided to see what our 2 thrift stores had to offer.
I spent a total of $17 for:
Casual tank top
Fancy white tank top
Long skirt for work
Eddie Bauer capris
Cute dressy/casual shorts
Everything was in brand new condition! Now i want to go to the big city near us and look lol

Wed, Jul 10th, 2019, 12:26 PM #68I am very proud of me: I only spend 12$ at thrift store and get 12 things because it is the 1$ event !!!
Did not find runner will try others places or purchase them new I still dont know...
Will have to return tomorrow for t-shirts and jeans because it was to busy and small space for me
I purchased the following:
-1 pair of flip flop because I only have 2 pairs now who still fit me
-1 pair of tissue ballerine because the others I have are to small
-3 pairs of good clean loofer leather shoes for indoors ,outdoors and scool, one taupe, one red and one black
-2 leather wallets because 1 only have 2 ...taupe and grey
-1 big purse in zebree for sport as a bag of sport
-2 bigs tissues purses
-1 red leather purse
my dad found 2 good leather belts he wanted
so a little bit guilty with the purses because I have about 15 already but it is like my pleasure and 1$ is so cheap
retail for those would be at least 100$ I think.Last edited by cath007; Wed, Jul 10th, 2019 at 12:28 PM.

Not a thrift store but we hit up the big flea market in Edmonton (if you havent been and you live near, go) and I got myself 6 cd's, some still in plastic for 30 bucks. I also got some funky hairdye at a cool goth booth for 9 bucks a bottle. I got two bottles because my town doesnt carry that type of thing. My son got a boombox for free because the man selling couldnt find the cord and didnt want my son disappointed. kudos to him, such a nice man. it works with batteries. my husband got some magic cards and a few cds too. i love looking around at places like this. if you live in Edmonton or near Edmonton, go. Its on 111th ave by the Westmount Mall.

Last night's Value Village finds:
$5.99 leather strap wrist watch (brother had new watch battery, so this watch now works)
$1.99 Shanghai Expo key ring (to replace my unreliable clip style key ring)
$9.99 women's cotton/nylon pants that zip off into shorts (bit small so likely to be altered into a skort for me)
$2.49 Clinique tote bag
Very delighted to have a working watch after last year's purchases failed.
Happened to see someone's donation of old Martha Stewart Living magazines (some from early 90s, early 2000s, and some from this decade)--tried to flip through each to locate a painting article but could not find it.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Found a Banana Republic round neck pullover with 3/4 sleeves in extra fine merino wool $7.99 less 50% off discount. $4.51 total today at Talize! Glad I checked the racks, as I almost walked out before stopping at sweaters after looking at blouses, men's sleepwear, skirts and outerwear.
