If you believe AM are a cash equivalent, Shell has the better deal.

$300 in GCs plus $47+ in AM for $300 OOP is ~13.6% off
vs
$300 in GCs for $270 OOP is 10% off

Increments of $25 would be: 1x $25 = $25 gc; 2x $25 = $50 gc; 3x $25 = $75 gc; 4x $25 = $100 gc
All should be processed as 10% off....

...but NOT 10% off a $10 gc. Probably not even if you were to buy 5x $10 = $50. To be on the safe side, I'd stick to the $25, $50, $100 gift card denominations...because, they are probably programmed into the cash register to give the discount, whereas other amounts will ring up at regular price.
Meh, I hope my nearest Rexall will actually accept credit card for payment -- the last time, they wouldn't, (even though that's technically against the Merchant agreement), and it's a bit of a hassle to get to it. Actually, I'd really prefer to buy the CT gc at RCSS...so, here's hoping they show up for sale there!

Ditto for me. Rexall restrictive and won't take credit card for anything above 2 GCs. I prefer to buy from Loblaws owned company to earn the credit card benefits, and Loblaws co has no limits on how many cards purchased.
