We’ve been having a pretty good storm that started yesterday. Most of the forecast rain is over, but I’ve seen some flooding pictures of Facebook for our neighbouring communities. Today is very winding and currently raining some. 43km/hr wind before wind gusts. This is why we chose to have our large yard sale last Saturday in the scorching 32 weather.

I submitted my application for 4 teaching contracts in one school division. I have some other job postings that I need to apply for. I know that some local positions have been filled, but I didn’t get interviewed.

I apologize now as this post might be a little bit long but this week has totally gotten away from me.

Tuesday night we went shopping after work. We did not need a lot our big stop was Costco, spent more then I expect but that was because I ended up buying 4 pairs of pants - 2 Full Length Yoga and 2 Yoga Capri. Our store has been out of the full length Yoga pants for months, lately I have been having issues with my legs and the only pants I can find that do not bother them is Yoga pants so I was in desperate need.

The other items we got at Costco:
    Chicken Breast
    Steak
    Hot Dogs
    Portabello Mushrooms
    Cheese Slice (Real Cheese)
Chips (we use these as side dish in the summer when it gets really hot)
    Kale Salad

After that we went to Superstore as Mom needed vitamins and they had them on sale, well we were there we also grabbed:
    Strawberries
    Yogurt
    Deodorant
    Bread

Well we were at Superstore Mom's PCO card would not work. I came home and did a live chat with customer service. Apparently her card was marked stolen when I asked how this happened they said a customer service agent probably entered the wrong card number.

I have tried to be patient with the PCO issue but I have to say it is seriously frustrated how little the cashiers know, does Loblaws not offer training? We were told Mom would have to go home contact customer service and then come back the next day with all our groceries to have them refund and resell them to get her points. Luckily the Live Chat agent was able to add them. Just shocks me the number of times I have heard them tell the customer the wrong thing.

Work has been insane this week we have had quite a few computer issues which lead to me not getting a lot of my own work done. Starting this week I am AR for 3ish weeks. She is off starting Tuesday but asked me come down Monday in case anything comes up. As well our new controller start this week.

I took advantage of the cooler weather this morning to get a few things done. I loaded the dishwasher, ran it, emptied and reloaded. I made some Potato Salad in put in the fridge and 2 batches of rice. I had hoped to make Beef & Broccoli for the fridge but ran out of time.

Now I am working, we have to do a mass upload/download this weekend which we have to do when we are closed. Which meant I had to wait until about 1 pm. Now I am working away.

Hope everyone is having a great day

Thoroughly enjoying the 10C+ drop in temperature today! Was actually thrilled last night when I noticed that the air was COLD outside when I was closing windows on the house.

Had a long wait for the bus home last night-late due to construction, then there was an alternate road detour to get back to town. With passing grey clouds, hot Ms. Sunshine and sweaty me at the Hamilton bus stop, I was so glad I had 4 bottles of Dr Pepper with me plus a bottle with water (refilled before I left the library/YMCA complex). Impulse beverage buys saved me last night (then after boarding the freezing cold bus, meant that my scarf got used so I did not become freeze-dried!).

This morning, I headed out to the one advertised garage sale on a can walk route I semi-regularly visit and saw two other small sales on the same street. Came across a fourth sale-no luck in finding a small laundry basket or sewing stuff but a 50 cent hardcover book was the one thing I did buy. Also did an early morning can walk on the way to Walmart to get more bleach and the Live Better magazine stand was not in place so the new issue must be coming out next week at my store.

No reply from the Elections Ontario people--maybe no more hires are needed. Did some trip planning for next week-rain seems to have Monday & Tuesday and maybe Wed on lock but temperatures are in the high teens/low 20s so I'll have to go ahead with my Tuesday plan.

Am considering to take a look at the herbs at Longo's garden centre this afternoon and see what gets my attention. Perfect conditions for gardening-not too hot, not too cold (more time outdoors!). @Giseledta , may you get your gardening to-dos all done today.

Have the Black Panther DVD to watch this weekend (and to enjoy popcorn with it). I feel like I should make a curried lentil stew or soup to make the most of the cooler weather. Have to see what's available in the pantry as I've used up all my pasta and have some long grain rice around and chicken stock cubes in the cupboard.

Dundas has Buskingfest this weekend. Next weekend, Ancaster has Heritage Days so I'll stay home until the mid-afternoon when most activities are done and takedown is in progress. The frozen fruit in the freezer will make for cool eating if the hot temperatures return (there's a limit to fresh watermelon for me and I like variety in berries and fruit).

Enjoy the flowers and the outdoors if you can get outside and stroll without distractions. There are lovely plants and creatures out and about--I saw some red/white peonies about to open in a local flowerbed in the business area.
2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Good morning! Woke up early yesterday and if felt like it should be a fun day not a chore day so took a drive to the casino for a free breakfast. Grabbed free $20 in juice/pop with comps to stock up the fridge. And came home with an extra $600+!!!! So putting the loonies in the hockey money fund and $200 on credit card to cover gas fill up and groceries etc. The rest tucked away for future plans. Makes doing chores much more fun today

Off to start laundry now. Have a great day everyone!

The storm passed yesterday afternoon and it has dried up enough that Dh plans on mowing the lawn later today. Dh is taking our son out to shoot model rockets. I plan on taking our twins in outside. We received another 2” of rain from the Fri/Sat storm. Some of my tomatoes and yellow string beans look beaten up.

I worked on more teaching applications yesterday and I’ll complete some more tonight. I picked up my CRC yesterday, scanned it at the public library and have it available for other applications.

    Good Morning Everyone,
A bit of a slow start here today. I slept in unlit 9 am which is kind of unheard for me, but i figure my body must have needed it. Only downside is I am feeling a bit groggy because of it. Almost wondering if I am fighting something off as I got really sore last night and I did not do anything last night that should have left me that sore.

Laundry is going, first load in the dryer, second load in the washer. We do not hang anything outside to dry only in the basement due to my allergies, so only what has to hang, hangs.

I have spent the rest of my morning going through the fridge to use stuff up. So far I have:
Chopped Carrots, Celery & Broccoli for lunches
Chopped Carrots, Celery, Broccoli, Mushrooms & Peppers to make Beef and Broccoli

I have cream cheese out coming to room temperature to make spread for bagels as well as Perogie Casserole. Also need to make cucumber Salad to use up some cucumbers.

As well I have Strawberries and a pineapple to cut up.

I am trying to get as much food prep done as I can as starting tomorrow I am working out of town, good news is it is commutable but means instead of being home between 3:30 & 4 I won't be home until after 5. I know it isn't that late but I just find by the time I get home, take a shower, make dinner, make my lunch it is bed time since I am usually in bed by 9 pm.

Well think I will get the beef and broccoli going well I make myself something for lunch.

Hope everyone has a good day.

The peonies that I cut down and sprayed with a fungicide last fall have returned, very healthy and lots of buds are coming up. Popped into Food Basics yesterday and used an email bogo free coupon on donuts. Found the Kisko freebies that my bf loves, oranges, Siberian Iris bulbs on sale, etc. Watched Red Sparrow last night and had cherries as a snack (on sale at Food Basics).
