Time to recycle your Ikea catalogue into the blue box bin, once you've saved your favourite product pages. A new edition will likely appear by early August! Toss any lurking June coupons including fast food offers and ensure you have July food offers and coupons ready for use this month.

It's really summer now. Hard to believe half the year has passed. This calls for ice cream or some kind of treat (with ice in the name).

Ontario water parks are enforcing life jackets on swimmers 10 yr of age or under, in case you are visiting Ontario or are a resident taking kids and friends to their favourite water parks this summer.

Ontario Parks will have its free admission day (as the park system is celebrating 125 years of existence) this month-July 21 if memory serves. Checking their Twitter feed: nope, it's July 20!

I can’t believe it’s nearly July already. Our community has pre-Canada Day celebrations on Friday, June 29th. A small nearby community hosts the Canada Day parade and festivities every July 1st. A park that is very near to our home hosts the free Kinsmen Canada Day celebrations in town. We will probably go to the parade, etc in the small community. Then have the free bbq lunch and paddling pool swim at the park near our home. We usually end up having an afternoon nap due to the heat. I’m waiting to see what the weather does because they are currently forecasting thundershowers.

I wonder if the cost of things will change noticeably with the US tariffs coming in July. I miss the former presidencies when things were less volatile.

I am sooo sleepy. Monday night, I stayed up doing two loads of emergency laundry. Tuesday, DD1 decided she wanted to do a song and dance number that involved jumping. DD2 woke from the commotion and decided she didn't want to sleep. She just kept running up and down the crib and smiling. When I asked her to lie down, she surprisingly did, but she kept sticking her feet through the crib rails and kicking the walls of her sister's room. DH got exhausted after 10:30 PM, when I took over. She finally laid down after 12:15. Unbelievable! Yesterday, I folded the laundry I hung on Monday.

    I still feel very sleepy.

DD1 decided that she likes cherries this year and will eat every cherry that comes through the house. Yesterday, I spent over $41 on five bags of cherries, 4 pints of blueberries and three bags of grapes. Summer harvest has begun!

sweet sparrow-my dear daughter has very little sleep also and she has a corporate job with many meetings, deadline etc plus she has to really prove herself at this job as she has only been there 3 months
=sometimes in the morning to get Sebastian going its awfull-his famous words now are "nope" or he will take a poop just before she goes out the door ,then she has to change his diaper
-he is not going to bed early its later and he is 21 months -its hard as she is in a one bedroom condo so he is right in their room (no they cant afford to move right now as his daycare is like another mortgage payment) -lol

The price of a small plastic clamshell of cherries...$5.97 at Longos as Dad just bought about three of them yesterday. Yikes, that is about the cost of a 6pk of beer (for three containers of cherries)! Given that we don't have a/c, most of the fruit will be spoiled by today.

I highly recommend that DD1 go mulberry tree spotting while wearing a tie-dyed shirt (hides the stains from the berries). The berries are ready now in many areas but spoil so quickly. I ate 3 berries this week when I passed a tree on my walk home.

Happy Canada Day everyone! Guess should get up soon and beat the crowd for breakfast. Being smart today since breakfast is free and ordering steak and eggs with a side of bacon and then can take the steak home for DS! Why didnt we think of this before?? Then hit the pool for a swim.
Filled a bag of items that I need to return to Costco and decided not to stop there yesterday thinking could go today. Then I remembered late last night. Today is Canada Day. Oh well we are down this way Wednesday night so we can go Thursday on the way home since we are off the rest of the week.
Not looking forward to walking out in that heat mind you the casino was very hot last night so that makes me think it must be really hot outside and the AC couldn't keep up with the doors opening. Need to finish laundry today hit the beach and have people coming to check out furniture for sale since Friday night my friend found a deal on a new dining room table with 6 chairs and Hutch and I love it. (She new i was looking for a certain style) The table is set-up and now I can sell my table and Hutch and actually make money since the other was such a steal. Change is good sometimes.

    Good Morning Everyone,
As expected the humidity and this cold are not mixing well. I ended up having an issue with my Pharmacy as they would not fill my prescription for my inhaler. Finally was able to speak with the actual pharmacist who said she would fill it but then I got there she filled the wrong prescription. It took another half an hour but I finally got the right prescription.

Good new is the inhaler really is helping yesterday I was either coughing or trying to take the deepest breathes I could feeling like I really could not match my breathe.

I must say I am over this heat, I tried BBQing last night and standing n front of the BBQ made me feel ill from the heat. Really hoping they are wrong and it breaks earlier than they currently saying.

Not much else going on mostly trying to limit movement to stay cool, limit coughing. I have been working on my crochet and relaxing.

Hope everyone had a great day and those in Ontario stay cool.

Ashley, hoping you feel better soon!

Good morning and Happy Canada Day!

Bit of staples shopping done yesterday, and just a bit more to pick up early in the week. I sure don't like the changes in store flyer days!

Hope you all have a great day!

Wowsers, 15 cent corn! Weekend special here is 45 cents.

Rainy day here and cool. Too bad for those out at the park for Canada Day festivities.

Well, today isn’t going quite as planned. Our son woke up with a sick stomach, so I ended up taking our twins to the parade by myself. He was feeling better before lunch, so we all headed out to the Kinsmen park celebration, but a thunder storm shut us down about an hour later. The police told them to pack everything up. It’s still cloudy outside, but nothing that bad.

I made pancakes, roast ham (from the freezer), cherries, red grapes, and milk for breakfast. The pancake breakfast in town costs $5/person.

good afternoon frugalees! A new month, another swing at the bat for us to try and stay focused on not buying more food but instead to get down to the bottom of the freezers first. Sales are my weakness. I need to go to a support group....lol
@sweet sparrow that lack of sleep you are experiencing is not lost on me....I really do remember that daily struggle as a working Mom....wishing both you and @coupon girl your DD some relief soon.
@SassyAshley and @Angela273 seems like both of you just couldn't catch a break. If it isn't the suffocating heat it is a downpour ruining a perfectly good Canada Day parade. Angela hope the twins were not too disappointed and Ashley thank goodness the Pharmacist finally filled that inhaler prescription for you.
@Natalka it was kind of funny that WalMart initially had their corn in the flyer at .77 ea, but when I got there Saturday it was marked down to .14 ( even less than Sobeys sale ) but sadly their supply ran out very early, and many customers were annoyed.
I overheard one woman yelling loudly " this is nuts! "....but tbh I think the heat had her more aggravated than the lack of corn.

We already had some of the Sobeys cobs left at home so I didn't really have to get more.

@coupongirl that was great corn. We picked it up Friday. The boys loved it. It's another hot day here but I am not complaining cause I hate snow.
Clothes on the line dried quick. Dinner is late tonight because we are waiting for the older son to return from work.

As went early to have a good parking spot for the Canada Day fireworks. It was the first time that we have taken our twins we stayed in the van to avoid mosquito bites, which my children react badly to. The fireworks were good and the rain started at the end of them. It was really coming down during our drive home. When Dh told our twin girl that the fireworks were over and we needed to buckle her back into her car seat, so she became quite sad and said “again.” She wanted more fireworks. We all had fun and donated towards next year’s fireworks. It is all volunteer run.

We took an evening walk again. Our son brought home a bottle for SARCAN. I found a quarter. I found a nickle on Friday when I went to the mailbox.

What a wonderful day it was yesterday! Packed up for the beach. Swam for hours. Then drove to a different beach and cooked steaks, mixed veggies and asparagus. Was so good!
