If you vehicle requires higher octane gasoline (89 or 91) here's a trick that will save you 8 cents per litre.
Example: Petro-Canada pump price by octane level is 137.9 for 87 octane... 150.9 for 89 octane... 157.9 for 91 octane … 160.9 for 94 octane
If you vehicle requires 91 octane gasoline, first purchase 25 litres of 94 octane @ 160.9, then purchase 25 litres of 87 octane @ 137.9…total cost =$75. This is less expensive then buying 91 octane (50 litres @ 157.9 = $79)
Similarly if you vehicle requires 89 octane gasoline, purchase first 10 litres of 94 octane @ 160.9 then purchase 40 litres of 87 octane @ 137.9…total cost =$71. This is less expensive then buying 89 octane (50 litres @ 150.9 = $75)
