    Hey folks,
There are a bunch of festivals I'm looking forward to this month, particularly because several of them usually have good freebies. I'm excited so I thought I would share them with you too.

    TIFF Street Festival
    Sept. 6-9
Usually a few fanicier freebies (I think there was Lindt, cheesy popcorn, and jerky last year) and a chance to see some famous people if you're into that.

    Veg Food Festival
    Sept. 7-9
This is my favourite Harbourfront festival. Tons of tasty food samples and lots of info about healthy eating.

    Taste of the Kingsway
    Sept. 7-9
This is an interesting lesser-known festival. Good if you're in the west end.

    Cabbagetown Festival
    Sept. 8-9
This is a big one - it includes a street festival, the St. Jamestown Festival (smaller celebration in a park), an art show/sale in Riverdale Park, and most interesting to me, tons of yard sales around the area. Definitely something for everyone.

Looks like we've got a busy weekend coming up!

    Ukranian Festival
    Sept. 14-16
I find the Polish festival a bit more interesting because of all the interesting shops on Roncesvalles, but if you're festival-hopping this one is worth checking out too.

    Polish Festival
    Sept. 15-16
They don't usually have freebies here, but I quite enjoy the atmosphere. Lots of perogi, cool hipster shops, and fun cultural performances. There is also a big used book sale a one of the churches. One of my favourite on stores on Roncesvalles is the Chocolateria. I believe they make their own chocolate and ice cream, and I love their Kitchen Sink Cookies. Perfect for someone who can't choose what to buy.

International Talk Like a Pirate Day
    Sept. 19?
In the past Krispy Kreme has offered free doughnuts on this day, so I'm hoping they do it again. I couldn't find any info on it online yet though.

    Word on the Street
    Sept. 23
This festival is not really my thing, but you may enjoy it. Harbourfront will be choc full of authors, readers, and books.

I thought this was in September, but apparently not. Anyway...
    Smoke's World Poutine Eating Championship
    Oct. 13
Free poutine! Not just a sample, actually a snack-sized poriton and a drink of some sort - now where else can you get that? This will probably be the last outdoor festival of the season for me, but it's definitely a good one.

I hope you will get out there and enjoy some of the great festivals TO has to offer!
