I must admit 2 nights of bad sleep are catching up with me. I am supposed to go grocery shopping after work but right now I feel it is highly unlikely to happen. We mostly just need some fresh produce to get us through to next week as we have most of the staples in the house. Maybe as the day goes on I will feel better and more inclined to stop. I also need to run into Shopper's for hairspray.

It looks like we may have caught the mice so far 2 nights with no little friends in the traps.

We still need to clean up the stock pile room and see if I can find something to put in the hole to deter them until I can get it filled in.

Well time to get back to work and see what I can get done today. Have a great day everyone.
When I had mice I used steel wool until I was able to fix the hole.

Thanks for the suggestion. My hole is a little bit too big it is about 3 inches wide by 6 inches long.

With the frugal news comes the unfrugal. Despite all my attempts at hanging laundry, I underestimated the weather one day and it poured on all the children's laundry. Everything had to be rewashed. Little black particles were on top of the sheets covering the clothes. I wonder if this means a roof replacement is coming up. Even more unfrugal news! I will have to check the deck after the next rainfall.

Today we picked and are now shelling a ton of peas from the neighbours garden-they are away and told us to help ourselves. I am going to make a big pot of borscht.

Am on day 4 of some kind of cold but it's more like a reaction to what I believe is use of a stain release liquid detergent. My tonsils seem 1/2 swollen for three days now. Have a touch of sniffle but no major tissue issue though my one eye tends to fountain at night (outer edge) randomly this week. Must be more perimenopause hormone shifting.

Mom and I share a similar cough as well-she's been using rubber gloves when handling Dad's laundry during scrubbing.

We arrived home last night, just before 7pm. While visiting my dad and his wife we played at the park, water park, grabdpa’s garden, had a bonfire. We roasted hotdogs and made s’mores the one evening. We really missed our AC because it was quite hot and they rent out their basement. My sister was also visiting with her 3 kids. They stayed in her old camper, parked in the back driveway.

I saw a new ENT specialist on our drive home. He did things very differently than the other ENT that I have seen, which is a good thing. He was surprised about some stuff, gave me prescriptions, and ordered a CT scan. I’ve been complaining of sinus pain for 6yrs and he was surprised that it was unrelated to my migraines.

My neighbour watered the garden while we were away, but didn’t water them enough. I had to through out a dozen string beans that were still on the plants because they had dried out. I harvested these tomatoes this morning. We will eat some and I will turn the rest into tomato sauce for the freezer. More tomatoes will ripen in tone next couple of days, which I might sell. I have 9 tomato plants this year. I dug a bit of potatoes for us to boil for supper today or tomorrow. They are great with dill and butter.

Managed to cut the remaining grass this afternoon after a kind of not effective trip to downtown. Noticed that Westdale Library has moved the newspapers to an area by the exit so only magazines are on the magazine bookcases.

Decided to trim branches along the property line and yes I must have touched something with sap because after 20 min I could feel the telltale itchy and scratchy sensation. My feet and lower legs are not happy in slides for grass cutting so I will double up on research for runners because even my lower back is feeling worse (and it was not happy trodding on sidewalks this morning). My right hand has every joint squawking.

Seems my tonsils are taking me to a full cold mode. I wasn't back in the computer lab tonight for more than 5 min before my throat began tickling then coughing and a nostril and eye decided to water repeatedly. Best to head home and brew some tea then let it cool before sipping. Hope that works because the Ricola Glacier Mints did not relieve the tonsil pain or coughing in the morning.

Suggest we all make Friday August 17 an adult play day-we decide not to do our usual chores/routines and try to take a new way home or just enjoy a fun activity after or before work to open up our fun sides (because we all won't be at the CNE on opening day).

OK, off I go to find comfort and tea! Enjoy your Thursday evening, SCers!

We are under a severe heat advisory and an air quality statement. The smoke from BC and Alberta wild fires are coming our way.

We stopped at No Frills last night to pick up a few items from the sale that was ending.
    4x $2 bacon
    2x $2 cauliflower + 100pts/$1 + 200pts/$1
    2x $2/lb red grapes (2 bags) + 100pts/$1
We stopped at a garage sale on the way home. I bought a spring/fall jacket for our son for $1. I bought a chunky sparkly necklace for myself for $1.

I am happy with some No Frills offers that I will be picking up this evening. 10,000pts per $100, 2,00pts per $20 fresh produce, and some lower value personal points offers. We’ll probably go to WalMart tonight too. We need to figure out what we can buy in town and what we need to buy in a bigger city, since I have another specialist appointment tomorrow.

    I have a drop-in Daycare boy today. I sold a $7 item this morning.

then popped into Dollarama got a small stool 4.00 for the bathroom -everytime the grandkids come mostly Ashlyn she has no stool to stand at ,heavy duty clothes pegs for some of our clothing

then over to fortinos I spent 68.71 -60.00 in points only paid 8.71
for that I got a lovely roast 13.55-2.60 in personal points =10.95 gonna have my son /family over for the roast one day when its cooler
real turkey pieces 6 scallopini 8.44-1.60=6.64 I decided for a treat it would be nice to have turkey, maybe breaded or fried or on the bbq plus a few other groceries ,yogurt ,drumsticks ,plums nuts etc oh and also a lovely yellow mum plant for 4.00
it was so nice getting points on the poultry and beef -I have moved the beef one for 2 weeks now

@coupongirl I had the beef offer last week and used it yet the offer remained and I double checked I got the points. So I saved it for this week. I try to save the offersfor produce and meat rather than the junkie food.
I am now on vacation for two weeks. We are away next weekend but home otherwise.
