September 2018 Frugal Chatter thread (fall fair time)

Yesterday was good except coming home part I had a conflict with Martin my key worker, over a suite inspection notice. I said “you have to give to me in person...” he said “no I don’t I can tape it to your door we are allowed to it can be 72hours in advance..” I said “it’s not even on RTA paperwork and it’s not binding and you don’t ever sign it so it’s not proper and you can’t tape it to the door you have to hand it to the tenant. That is what it says in the RTA...” then someone interrupted us to be let upstairs on the elevator. He was over the moon to please of course. So later I found it taped to my door...on not proper paperwork and not signed. It’s on a day next week that’s suppose to be my check in day with Martin...some how I don’t think it’s happening. I am not going to bother going downstairs for our Tuesday check in if the bloody suite inspection is during that time.

Grrrr!!!! What a joke!

I also got a letter in the mail having to do with CPPD I mean this is the way for provincial government to kick me off PWD. I haven’t made any contributions since I was 26, I am now 34. When I worked for the community services and the newspaper it was basically contract and didn’t see any CPP contributions. I was full time when I was 26 working in a long term care home as a cook it was union. That letter has me stressed out. I have an issue with it and have only been on disability for 5 years. And have looked at all avenues of income trust me, this letter just boils my blood.

My appointments went well my psychiatrist didn’t reprimand me and didn’t talk down to me as what I thought she was going to do. Usually she looks put together but her hair was all over the place and she was wearing jeans. This was unusual and made me feel like if she didn’t care about appearance but did about me complimenting me on my clothes like the color of my hoody that was green. She told me to smile and I didn’t because really why should I have to. I felt like crap and didn’t want to put a fake smile on to appease someone especially my psychiatrist.

I just left a message with my psych nurse about yesterday and the so called meeting with a causal because Martin worked the day time. I need to desperately talk to her things keep going bang in my life living in this supportive housing block. How is it supportive? I said I was depressed last Sunday and Martin was like “well lazy you, we can make a schedule for cleaning if you like?” I said I was depressed not lazy people who are depressed aren’t lazy they are: no motivation, no feeling right, deep dark thoughts, low mood, guilt and ashamed by everything but don’t care either. Everything when one is depressed is harder to do and I also suffer from Anxiety so I am 9 times out of 10 suffering with anxiety attacks/panic attacks and gut issues such as acid reflux.

My psych nurse just called me and said she would be calling me around 2:30pm because her meeting ran long and she has to give an injection. I guess it’s the only time she is free.

I guess I will get dressed and walk to the pharmacy to pick up my blister pack of meds. Nothing else to do i could do my laundry, but I am not up to it. I should have done it at 7:04am when the laundry room opened up. I don’t find anything about doing something like that in the morning I didn’t exactly get much sleep and I am excited for the new blister pack because she raised my trazodone to 150mg from 100mg because i do not get enough sleep at all. She, my psychiatrist didn’t exactly tell me when she wants to see me next.

@greentires4me -that heavy rain must have been both a bother (lots at the time) but also welcome (relief from the smoke and heat of recent weeks). Mornings and nights out here in Hamilton area tend to be clammy cool or misty cold then warm up fairly quickly by 9am if heat and humidity run the forecast. I'm looking forward to cooler temperatures as of Thursday night as a storm is said to be coming by.
@Andit -super glad to hear from you! How you and your pets managed in the mostly sticky hot summer in downtown, I don't know. Fish rescuer? Seems your good heart is well known!
@SassyAshley -I know Reitmans has 30% off tops this week and I am waiting for a pants special. Hope you checked any clearance racks for black or black and other colour summer clearance. I know Reitmans had lots of black and offwhite floral print jackets and paper-bag type waist pants in the same print-50% off whatever the last price was. I too am questing for black pants thus I was surprised to even find 2 pairs of black pants at Winners (where I hardly ever find anything beyond a top or jacket to try on) to take to the fitting room last weekend. I'm still looking at Long Tall Sally and will glance at White House Black Market's website plus Chico's too. Don't know if you have any success with Mark's for pants? I am not a huge fan of pants almost all containing 4% stretch or wide waistbands or fitted legs. Polyester/rayon, pockets and a natural waist are like looking for a needle in a room of clothing.
I was at Value Village this morning and spotted a Suzy Shier dress from this spring that I want to buy to copy in another fabric. Am hoping that dress is around for the next 50% off sale. Did not see any skirts I'd want and I forgot to see if pants had new additions on the rack.

Mom received a Hudson's Bay VIP Friends and Family coupon mailer. If she uses her HBC Mastercard with the coupon from Sept.19-21, she can get an extra 25% off almost anything. She could then get a sale coverlet featured in the Fall 50 booklet for an extra 25% off. Have to see if she'll hustle as tomorrow is the last day that the coverlet is on sale pricing. The other coupon is to give to friends or family for Sept.21-23 for use with an HBC credit card or MC to get 20% off (but the dates are after the expiry of Fall 50 fall fashions and furniture sale prices).

I just got off the phone with my psych nurse she wasn’t impressed with what happened yesterday.

In the mail I got a coupon for $1 off toilet paper, and a Chapman’s beach ball. I picked up my meds and went to a local smoke shop, bought some papers and clipper lighter. I am now really tired though and keep sneezing. Bonus I found some unopened pepperoni sticks in the back of my fridge good until October 10, 2018 and the other one November 8, 2018, honey and original. The garbage can went to the curb I heard it coming out of the underground 2hours ago. I need to clean out my fridge and see what is good and what is not. I seem to harbour lots of crap in my fridge.

I noticed that I just lost feeling to my right side of my face and my lips are numb. I don’t remember eating anything I am allergic to. I better go laters..

busy day -got to daughter-in-law's at 8.30 as she had to take Ashlyn to the hospital to see a specialist ,so watched baby cara and hubby wanted to coat son's driveway with sealer as we had a pail left over only used a tiny bit out of it

so we were there all day then son asked us for supper local fish and chip shop -I cant eat the fish as I have seafood allergies so I had leftover chili and French fries

home now and just had a bubble bath as I may be a bit sore from bending and brushing around the edge of driveway

I won a gift card to a local bar and grill. They are having a customer appreciation event in October that Dh and I plan on attending. I hope it can be used towards the cover charge on the event. That night they will have a taco bar buffet, door prizes, and a local live band will perform later in the evening. I believe the cover charge includes the buffet, which isn’t bad for $15/person.

Does anyone know why some members abbreviate all their words all the time?

I am getting freakin annoyed by someone who keeps doing it to all posts in a reply format. I have enough trouble in life trying to remember what LoL or LMFAO means. I cannot make heads nor tails of it and not a mind reader.

Yesterday I had a hypoglycaemic attack it looked like a stroke but it wasn’t it only mimic it. They did tonnes of tests at the hospital I was really dizzy they released me stating all the tests were normal. But they did take my blood sugar it was a 4. After when I was waiting for a cab home I fainted on the sidewalk twice. I don’t remember any of it. I got to this bench and sat down. Then took a cab home with a stupid cab driver that couldn’t read his system he kept asking where I was going and who was paying at one point he tried to make me get out of the cab on the highway, i said it says the hospital is paying for it. He didn’t seem to have listened to me and threatened to call the cops I said go right ahead it’s in the system that it’s being paid for by the hospital only you would be looking like the fool. He dropped me off and asked for a tip. I said the tip is to read your system before making rash judgements and if you cannot read it then go back to school. He said you know money tip and I was like I know but the tip is a piece of advice.

I think my t-shirt package comes today. It said it cleared customs yesterday.

@coupongirl I am on a no buying laundry product freeze. I kept finding good deals and by the time I came up for air I realized I had enough for close to 300 loads of laundry so no more for me. Same with dishwasher tabs. I have I enough for 6 months so it has to be absolutely free including tax for me to consider it. I had a lovely break with my mom and aunt this week, home tonight and back in the office Friday. Nice short week.

I’ve been busy this week. Our children have all been sick and Dh cane down with it yesterday too. So far I haven’t come down with any of the symptoms. I’m really hoping to skip this illness, or at the very least not get sick until Dh is home for the weekend and can help. My hands are cracked and bleeding again from washing them and cleaning to much. My meal plans went out the window. I have thawed meat in the fridge that might just have to wait until tomorrow.

I’m exhausted and started the new regime of pills last night a day early I figured why not. I didn’t care I need the sleep. I woke up at 4:30am then went back to sleep at 5:30am and it’s now couple mins to 9am. I have to go to the food bank, well not necessarily I don’t have to. But I feel like and just want to stay in bed forever. I suppose it’s probably possibly raining outside. I have a fan going on me to keep me from overheating. My back doesn’t really hurt just my tail bone and hips. I’m sure that changes once I stand up though.

The t-shirts came apparently this time around I have to pay money. There was a parcel notification in my mailbox about it. It almost as much as another t-shirt, 15.38$. I don’t get paid till Wednesday so I’ll have to wait until then. Unless I borrow a $20 from my mom on Tuesday and pay her back on Wednesday. I feel she’ll say no though.


I guess I should get dressed if I am going to the food bank it’s 1/4 past. Once 10am hits all the good stuff is gone.

morning everyone its a wonderfull day today its my birthday and anniversary ,we are going to a local farm at 11.30 to meet my daughter/hubby and Sebastian for a few hours ,then home rest a bit then out for supper with my son and his girls (his wife is out of town ) should be a nice day

At this point Dh is the only one sick. I’m still struggling with my own health issues. I have specialist appointments on Monday. Dh took a personal day off work. He will stay home with our own children and run the daycare for the day. This makes it easier for me to go to my appointments and neither of us will directly lose a day of pay.

I’m trying to make use to my road trip. I’ve made arrangements to have lunch with my great aunt. I haven’t seen her in a few years. She private messages with me about once a month on Facebook. I’ll also try to do some shopping that is hard to do where we live.
