Ty! I didn't read this coupon because usually when I use other coupons they don't charge me tax so this was new to me.

I searched about taxation and it says that ice cream in a unit of 500ml or less is taxable.
"Ice cream, ice milk, sherbet, frozen yogurt, frozen pudding and substitutes for these products, and products that contain any of these products, are taxable when packaged or sold in single servings, regardless of the number of servings in each package. A “single serving”of ice cream or a similar product is a unit of less than 500 mL or 500 g. A product is considered to be packaged in single servings when each of the portions is individually wrapped or packaged in its own right."

While it IS taxable, the value of a free coupon is supposed to be deducted BEFORE applying the tax - so the tax is then calculated on 0, and 13% of 0 is 0.
