Is everyone ready for Halloween if you shell out? I have 120 Kool-aid jammers. Should be enough. With leftovers for the fridge for boys and their friends. I need to pull the light up pumpkin and ghost from the garage tonight. We have a pumpkin but will won't carve it. Will make DS seeds on the weekend or next week one night since he loves them.

The Canada post strike continues in my town second day without mail and I am waiting on a package from amazon. I guess I will get it tomorrow...hopefully they go back to work tomorrow.

There is a draw for Canucks tickets today for the game tomorrow. I said things like I know my way downtown and what it costs for things at the Rogers arena to the manager here whose driving.

I leave in an hour I was thinking I should get up I am just really nonchalantly going about it.

I am going to get my mom to stop at spirit Halloween store on our way home I want to see what I can buy for a couple bucks. Someone wants me to look for devil horns for them. They are really picky I don’t think they would like the selection they have these days.

Aw maybe it’s windy and raining outside that’s why I feel blah.

I would get my mom restaurant GC too but now I always get one for RCSS. I figure she buys groceries and is sure to use it. Great for practical people (like myself, I love that )

I'm feeling a tad stressed too...really thinking of taking a vacation day tomorrow. Then I can get motivated to do stuff tonight since I would be off tomorrow. I think I should just do it.

What a day-second morning in a row I intended to put my bedding into the washer but there's other laundry getting priority.
Missed my bus to go where I meant to go yesterday, so I ventured into Value Village to poke around :different wool coat on the rack, a interesting metal zipper/wool cardigan to try on, two Eddie Bauer sweaters (same styles but the black one is priced at $4.99 and navy is $9.99??), and different men's wool sweaters (no more true green Italian wool sweater-sniff). Nothing like a tension rod is seen in the store. Looked over the bath towels and blankets and electrical section things. Off to Longos for a small shop. Found 60 cents of containers on the way home-sweet potato has to be removed from the produce bag which is needed for the finds.
Did some grasscutting-had fun running the mower over leaves. Took down a few branches but I need another two metres of height to take down the tree limbs I detest over the clotheslines.
Attempted window cleaning on the doors and also oiled knobs and hinges. Will give windows a better cleaning with microfibre cloth tomorrow.
Put furniture polish on the three living room tables (not deep effort as I was in sibling's way of watching something on TV) but that's the second semi-annual polish and it's done. Also polished my headboard but I have to redo it properly again.
Made a cup of Tetley Warmth tea after putting stuff away, feeling a headache settling in and I decided it was time to get Internet time here with you!

Happy find in email--Longo's Ancaster now offers pickup in store of Grocery Gateway orders! Have a code to save $20 off a $50 order since I'm a TYR member. If only I had Internet at home. I have held off of doing an order with delivery from Toronto (but if you are doing an order today or tomorrow, try code "bestof2018" to save $15 off a $50 order on GroceryGateway at checkout as code expires on Oct.31). Walmart offers pickup (if you have a car/cellphone), Fortinos has pickup and now Longos has joined in. Waiting for Sobey's to get its order system up next year!

Cat fans--Linen Chest has a coir mat of a black cat's head peeking from a corner of the mat. That made me smile! The item is under Halloween but does not show up when you type "coir mat" and hit search. https://www.linenchest.com/en/peeking-cat-doormat.html

Last night, I was in Winners to get quinoa on clearance and noticed that in kitchen towels, one pack of two towels was from Ricardo's Art of the Table line. Which means Linen Chest must be selling its discontinued items to Winners to sell? I also got 3 x $2 snack size bars from Walmart to cover Halloween (Fortinos has the Mars and Twix bars for $2.29 but no Smarties or Kit Kat varieties).

I picked up 4 packs of Marcelle makeup remover cloths (10 in a pack) for $1.00 each at Shoppers and even though I saw the post about the teen pack being reduced on this forum, I am holding off as I don't need a thing besides food. But I sure am tempted to see if all three kits are reduced at my local Shoppers 🙂

@Ciel when I am stumped and need to make a fairly inexpensive meal, I grab any leftover meat (chicken, beef or pork) and make nachos with cheese sauce or cheddar cheese with salsa and sour cream. To keep costs down I buy the store brand of nachos, salsa, cheese and sour cream. Great for late night snacking too.

I finished watching The Haunting at Hill House. I am not a big fan of scary movies but I found the 10 episodes on Netflix to be very well done and very suspenseful and definitely scary at times. I recommend leaving the lights on and not watching too close to bedtime. I loved it.

@barbis9 -I've been favouring No Name/store brand for some canned goods, legumes and butter at times in order to save money. I'd love to eat nachos for a meal!

That veggie version of Alfredo sauce from FFW: in pot over high heat, boil one quart of chicken broth and 4 cups of cauliflower for 10 minutes. Drain. In a blender, combine the cauliflower with 1 tsp. garlic powder and 1/2 cup of milk. Saves 117 calories from the regular Alfredo sauce. Toss sauce with pasta or enjoy with steak or chicken.

Another creamy sauce that saves calories: mac & cheese using squash! Roast 2 cups of butternut squash chunks at 400F for 20min. Blend in food processor. In pan over medium heat, heat squash puree, 1/4 cup Cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup milk.

I intend to try that sauce version using reduced price yellow and green cauliflower (79 cents each at Fortinos-yes some of the cauliflower is not usable but the price was not to miss) with fettucine this week.

Found a 4 pack of reduced bell peppers (two green, two red-the reds are for the cacciatore dish still needing chicken purchased...) at Longos today. Happy Ciel!

    Good Evening Everyone,
Well it turns out I was sicker than I realized. Sunday I was actually starting to feel better but Monday I woke up feeling even worse and everyone I spoke to told me how horrible I sounded. I broke down and called the doctor, turns out I have enlarged Tonsils, Strep Throat, Swollen Glands and Post Nasal Drip. So I am now on Antibiotics.

The last 2 days have been all about work a surprise project was announced yesterday at a meeting I was not at. Something we used to get a month notice on and then was down to a week now needed to be done in a matter of hours. I was up until 11 pm last night trying to get the changes programmed. Probably not my best move as I probably needed sleep but on the flip side I slept through my alarm today and did not get up until 8 am.

We really need to go grocery shopping but I just do not have it me, I cancelled last night and tonight on the grocery shopping. Hoping tomorrow I have more ambition and maybe can get a few things to get us to next week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful night
