Can you use airmiles to get a grocery giftcard ( valid on Sobeys,foodland etc) and then use that giftcard to do the stb offer of Sobeys ( spend 100$)? Will this work ?

That used to work at my local Sobeys but they stopped that over a year ago. Now I cannot use Air Miles to purchase any gift cards there. I'm not sure but I'm assuming the policy is the same at other Sobeys/Foodland stores.

I think its the same thing here. I should check if they would allow me to use $150 in airmiles to pay for my shopping and if it could count for the Shop the Block.

I know they don’t let you redeem for giftcards at Sobeys stores.I just checked online that you can get a grocery giftcard at airmiles.ca that is valid at Sobeys. They email you the giftcard once you redeem your airmiles . I was thinking about using it at Sobeys to use the stb offer next week.

Can't guarantee it, but I would assume that this is ok because the gift card is tender, not a coupon that reduces your total. Problem would be making sure the gift cards arrive quickly after you redeem online. I've only ever redeemed for Starbucks ones online but they've arrived in a few minutes

Just chatted online with a representative from Airmiles. She told me I can use $100 in Airmiles and an extra $50 for a total of $150 and that would count for the Spend $150 at Sobeys that starts on December 6. Nice to be able to reduce the out of pocket amount to pay.
