Claim Your CRT Class Action Payout (Minimum $20)
http://www.crtclassactioncanada.com/ I filled out the simplified claim form, which was easy and did not seem to have any GOTCHAs.
Canadian class action law firm Siskinds LLP announced Friday that courts in Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec have approved class-action lawsuit settlements totaling nearly $50 million. All Canadians can claim this even without a purchase receipt! Although if you have a receipt you could get more.
- Persons resident in Canada (individuals, businesses and governmental entities) can receive a payment from the 50 million dollar settlements if they
purchased any of the following products, regardless of the manufacturer or brand, in Canada between March 1, 1995 and November 25, 2007:■CRT televisions
■CRT computer monitors
■CRTs for inclusion in televisions or computer monitors - Payments will be distributed on a proportional basis, based on the value of your claim relative to the value of all approved claims. It is anticipated that all claims will receive a minimum payment of $20.
- Claim must be filed before March 1, 2019
CRT Class Action Details
If you purchased a cathode ray tube TV or computer monitor between 1995 and 2007, you may be eligible for a cash payout.

I applied for the simple one and for other people that are applying for the same one, watch because there is a option to put in for two different claims using the same address. I did tv one and a monitor one. I know for sure I purchased a crt model of each but no way I would still have the bill from back then.
Thank you for posting

I know sibling and I purchased a tv jointly in 1997 and he also got a replacement unit within 8 years but I'll let him figure it out. I intend to put in a claim for the 1997 one-we still had Sony stores back then!

Can enter up to 2 old CRT devices (tv or monitor) with no receipts, can claim more if you have receipts

Looks like a $20 payout if you have no receipts.

Sony is not on the list of defendants, so I have not submitted a claim. Our two tvs during the timeframe in the suit were Sonys.

I understand, but what about that person who did buy one of the eligible products and no longer has a home right now because they are homeless? (It could happen). I highly recommend that you apply for the credit for folks who will miss out on this and then donate the money to a charity?

@Giseledta
From their faq
In class actions, payment typically occurs a year after the claims deadline.
