Fortinos has frozen berries on sale for $3.99! Score. Also picked up a 50% off Wonder Bread high fibre 100% wheat loaf. Made the coffee cake while heating the frozen chili on the stovetop last night. Somehow forgot to add sugar to the batter but I decided I wanted the sugar topping. End result-cake tasted like bread dough with spiced pears and raspberries. Edible but just. My lavender and tulsi tea tastes awful with sugar (like minty dried grass) rather than the black licorice flavour I got when I used stevia. Will add stevia to my next grocery list!

Wool skirt-squared up the off-grain wool piece that then got cut into two bands. Tried to pin one band to skirt edge and realized I needed to open up the side seams on the skirt first so set everything aside (it was late at this point) to ensure I did not make another mistake. Round 2 will resume after lunch today.

Super sloppy day-I have not even bothered to push slush off the walkways. Let the rain and soon to come gusting winds in the afternoon do the wash and dry cycle.
I did pop into Fortinos this morning but did not find the Chinese New Year coupons posted in the scan thread. Plan to visit Fortinos Eastgate next week to try my Coupon Zone search there. Longos might have the juice coupon (Del Monte) as I remember last year the coupon was placed by the product but I cannot verify that today (my shoes are not watertight).

I am waiting on a friend to answer me something I tried knocking at their door I tried fb messaging them and next I am going to try text messaging them. They asked me first a question I answered them then they wanted to know when I was home.

I didn’t want to get out of bed this morning I paid the price earlier trying to leave the house.

My house is a disaster I care but I don’t care. There is dishes everywhere, bags full of stuff, clothes that are clean all over my couch, stacks of papers in my bed, cannot see my night stand, laundry there is a pile but it’s in a basket behind a closet door, my dinning room table I can see small clean section, and cardboard everywhere. I guess that’s what you get for being under the weather for weeks.

I went to Walmart and bought 113.49$ worth of items. I bought cupcakes that were on sale for $3.75 regular $5. Cleaners, garbage bags, paper plates, breaded pickles in the frozen section, breaded mozzarella sticks, havarti cheese, always pads with wings, 3x 4in a pack for 9$ regular sized chocolate bars, dove deodorant and dawn dish soap.

Shoppers I bought some love hearts and fixodent that was on sale for 5.99$ a tube. for the friend I am trying to get a hold of. And iTunes gift card and amazon gift card.

Staying in on this rainy day. Ordered some things from Amazon as I had some gift certicates to use. Digging through the cupboards to make a meal without going to the store.

an item arrived from indigos but I thought it would be plastic (lights), turns out it is glass. Will return it tomorrow and pick up my library reserves. Hopefully it won't be too icy due to the rain today.

I made one of my best salads last night with leftovers.....rice in a salad is so delicious, because I used all my leftovers, I still have enough for tonight's dinner too. Trying to stay off sites online.

I purchased a necklace off Wish - paid over $15 with shipping, took forever to arrive from china. I wore it for one day and the colour is already changing on the chain. Very disappointed as even Dollarama jewellery lasts for a while. I contact Wish, got an automated response and am waiting for a reply. This is first and LAST purchase on the site.....overpriced junk and I suspect fake reviews. EBay is better.

After supper last night (leftover beef chili from MMFoods-yummy but spicy! plus some leftover cake) and a mug of lemon & ginger tea at hand, I got the skirt bands stitched on the bottom of the skirt, pressed open the seams and stitched the side seams and then pressed up a 1/2 inch hem (which I hand folded in half and pinned for hemming). I'll press the hem today and work on the lining hem and aim for a fitting, as the upper part of the skirt and lining need seams narrowed but where exactly is what I expect to find out (using some tailor's chalk as necessary to get an idea). Good thing I took out the zipper and removed the waistband (likely the last thing to be altered once the skirt body and lining are sorted) long ago! It seems the skirt will hit about an inch below Mom's knees or maybe slightly lower. Good enough for home wear, I think!

Super sunny morning start but Mom and I were feeling kind of blah. I baked a package of MMFoods apple blossoms and made her a mug of tea, then put some chicken tenders to bake as well. Checked the community paper and flyers for any interesting news or offers, collected dry laundry and removed the load I put into the washer this morning but forgot about when I went back to bed (early today) to hang up for drying.

Shoppers flyer-besides the one-day Saturday weekend deals (food and other needs), that day is also 20X PC Optimum points day for Wellwise/Shoppers Home Healthcare if one spends $150 or more. Just a heads up, if anyone needs healthcare items and wants a points offer too.

Bay Gardens is doing another Casino bus trip in February (saw the ad in the Community Wrap). I want to be on that trip and see the venue-it's been a few years since my last visit there and to the adjoining mall. After reading all of @Frugalbigmama 's casino posts, I want to try my luck.

Going to visit Walmart and Longos this afternoon to see if they may have the Del Monte CNY coupons or the Foodland Ontario calendars (WM sometimes stows the box on top of a produce stand or under a weigh scale station-must hunt for the box). I intend to visit Fortinos Eastgate for its Coupon Zone board, where I have in the past found the CNY and Diwali coupons, next week.

Canada Post features CNY stamps in its January booklet of stamps and coins available for purchase.

Found a can worth 10cents in a local spot today!

Some HPL library branches normally closed on Fridays will be open in some locations for the elementary school PA day tomorrow!

I saw somewhere online that McDonalds now has a digital McCafe card that has come to Ontario after operating in limited cities and provinces. Who has scored some free beverages on the digital card already?

    Question of the day:
Due to the cold winter temperatures this month, have you had to oil door locks, automatic garage door rails and other metal hardware in order to quell squeaks or overcome hard to open situations?

    A. YES! Back door lock would not budge the last 1/8 inch to open two nights ago-took me over two minutes before I could turn it open. I oiled the key chamber but should give the rest of the assembly more oil tonight. Tomorrow is another really cold day.

Done babysitting for the week (my daughter-in-law will get her mom for my usual Friday shift)as I did it 3 times this week and I much prefer 2 days a week -I am tired but still wanted to get to shoppers for seniors day -spent 39,took part in the granola bars deal so I got 4,000 p.c points ,then into the bulk barn used my 3.00 cpn got some nuts and my bridge mixture

Then on to get gas as it was 93 cents -came to 21 for half a tank ,was so exchaused decided to get 2 pizza pizza slices 5.00 for hubby and I

Had hubby stop at Canadian tire on the way home form my son's as I needed a light bulb for my range hood 2.49 and got sugar 2.29 mind you shoppers was cheaper at 1.99 but sold out

What a very long week, glad it’s almost over. All day meetings everyday means all my real work has piled up. We are entertaining this weekend so I need to get an early start Friday so I can prep for Saturday. The younger son has exams right now so that adds a layer of stress. I will get up earlier than him on Friday and make pancakes for breakfast. That always seems to help with exam stress.
