Canadians can discuss proposed air passenger rights bill

For the travellers amongst us, you have until February 20 to let the Canadian government know what you think of the proposed bill concerning air travel passenger rights. Must be Canadian to enter the discussion.

In the United States and the European Union, there are laws concerning rights for air travellers (on flights originating in the US or the EU)-when stuck in a plane on the tarmac, when food and drink might be offered, any compensation or alternate bookings, etc. Canada is not there yet or at least, the existing laws and fines are not comprehensive enough to deal with planes on the tarmac and passengers not keen on spending hours in a hot or cold or malfunctioning plane and maybe without adequate toilet access or water and food.

I am a passionate traveller, but not a Canadian citizen, just visit Canada rather often and have many friends and relatives there. I always try to catch cheap flights and monitor info like what you just shared :)
