So I expect beef will be going up in price as well, along with all the other meats that are used as substitutes. In short, if you have room for a garden, then this is the summer to get out and plant. If there is a reasonable price on beef...stock up, everyone.
Or.....take a page from the new Canadian Food guide and cut back on beef

Our kids haven’t been feeling well so we were running out of kids Tylenol, so I took the twins with me to WM. We found shoes for twin girl because her current shoes won’t fit her for too long. $20, marked down to $9. At the till I asked if I could get an additional discount because only one shoe would light up. Waited for the manager and bought them for $5.

Yesterday I was in contact with a potential new daycare family. She came this afternoon to meet us and check out my home daycare. She took home the contract to fill out and will be paying the deposit this week. Her son is supposed to start full-time next week. I’ll have some long days with that family, but I’m able to fill the spot and charge a little extra. This boy is the same age as my current little daycare girl.

What a frozen morning. I worked through the night again, letting DH sleep straight through without having the dogs awaken him with their fuss to get out...and then to come right back in because the snow is too cold on their delicate little paws. It is good to keep the airtight going full time as well. It is that awkward weather period of the year. Has anyone heard predictions of what the growing/gardening season is going to be like, how long it will be, etc.?

    Have a great Monday everyone!

Will see if there are gardening forecasts for Ontario, @wendymac !

Saw this item about the cherry trees in Vancouver-they do better in colder winters than in warm wet climates.

BC is dry and hot and about to get lots of rain:

@Ciel A salute and kudos to you, Ciel, for posting so much information about what we all can expect in weather conditions for Spring. Here's what I'll be dealing with...

    ONTARIO AND QUEBEC

March has brought a transition from January-like weather to a pattern more typical of March. However, the road to consistent spring weather does contain more pot holes than initially expected as the rest of March will still bring a couple shots of colder weather.

April and May will bring back and forth swings in temperature that are typical of the season. That means that we will see a more typical spring this year, in contrast to the consistent cold pattern that we saw last year. During the periods of warmer weather we will continue to have a heightened threat for spring flooding, especially across northern Ontario, cottage country and the Ottawa Valley where the snow depth is well above normal.
