Quick question - once you reach your max data, what happens - is the feature stopped or do you pay for overages?
Once you use up your data, it stops working. That can be a bad thing if you were willing to pay for it, but also a good thing because there is no way to accidently spend money.
Public Mobile does not have overage fees. Any usage needs to be already paid for with a plan or add-on package.
There are one time data add-ons that can be purchased if you run out.

Last 3 days to receive $25 account credit if you are referred by an existing Public Mobile customer and perform an online self-activation. This offer ends March 31, 2019. You must have a Public Mobile sim card in-hand to perform the activation before the deadline passes to be eligible.

The offer is for the valid from starting from March 30, 2019 until 11:59pm EDT on March 31, 2019.
The customer needs to pay for the first 30 days of service, and if that new activation is done in-store at the participating retail location, the second set of 30 days will be free. The free service will be given to the customer in the way of an account credit. The credit will be applied to the customer's account within 72 hours of in-store activation, and the credit amount will be equal to the plan price of the initially activated plan. Activation MUST be done in-store.
Sim cards will be free at participating retailers during this promotion if the activation is done there.
Sign up can be done at participating locations of Walmart, The Mobile Shop, WOW! Mobile, and K-Mobile.
As usual, new customers who are referred by an existing Public Mobile customer will receive a $10 account credit. The $25 referral credit offer CANNOT be combined with the free second 30 days of service offer.
The $25 referral credit offer, as well as the free 30 days of service offer have both expired. Those two offers ended on March 31, 2019.
The price plans in the first post of this thread are all still available, as is the $10 credit for new customers if they are referred to Public Mobile by an existing customer.
The current $25, $40, and $45 plans with talk, text, and 3g data will stop being offered after April 22, 2019 to new customers and existing customers who are not already on them. As of today, the old $23 Autopay plan with 1GB is now $28. I've removed the $38 Autopay plan from the first post because it is no longer worth mentioning.
