We are replacing our BBQ this year as well and I am not looking at the price. DH picked it and the son that cooks approves. We spent the day out for lacrosse and came home to steak and fries on the bbq thanks to the older son. Now just vegging on the couch seems
ikethis weekend just blew past me.

I feel the same, we are buying one with a side burner as well as the infrared burner because then I can do corn outside

    Good morning all.
Hope everyone had a great weekend
I am on my second cup of tea
My dog is walked and the kitchen is clean
Just need to tidy up the family room.
Will be going out shopping later to chase a few deals for donation.
I my self would like a new Bigger BBQ . But my DH likes the old one it’s natural gas and it’s non stick . Still in good working condition. Had it for more than 20 yrs.

    Happy Monday everyone!

It was a fun fun weekend. Absolutely no housework got done. But I'm ok with that. Life is to be enjoyed! The housework will always be there. I cleaned the kitchen this morning so it's not too bad.
Saw lots of live music on the weekend. Went to the Elmvale Maple Syrup festival. Lots of quality time which was awesome.
DS and his friend saw the new Marvel movie and had a sleepover so they had fun too.

Sun is shining now which is nice but we are suppose to get rain.

    Have a frugal day everyone!

@Frugalbigmama -do spill the maple syrup: what kinds of treats were sold there?

Sunday-our street was on the 20km bike route for the Paris to Ancaster race, so someone kept going by every few minutes in the late morning. Watched too much morning television and saw the Power Air Fryer promo program again (the weekend before I even caught the Emeril Air Fryer promo program but how odd that every rack or device is a bonus in the latter offer? I don't feel the price comparison to a competing air fryer is fair because at least ONE rack comes with an appliance as standard equipment, not as bonuses.)

I forgot to post that I had found 15 cents in Cdn Tire money on Friday-truly a fun random treasure find! Most times, I find a 5 cent note but a 10 cent note was with this one.

Am in dire need of some fresh fruit. Mom had purchased some large blackberries but they are kind of tough and not too sweet. So the seedless grapes got my attention. I have pureed that last amount of frozen blueberries with some almond milk and hemp seeds-1/2 of it was consumed in the evening and other half was part of today's breakfast.

Only one bright daffodil was open this weekend and it was surrounded by green stalks without flowers. One of Mom's plantings is regenerating its shoots so there will be some more colour soon.

@Ciel here blackberries in the wild aren’t ripe until July/august depending how hot it is...

Have you guys ever had huckleberries or salmonberries?

    Good morning!

Took my guy out for dinner for his birthday last night. He choose the casino. (said the food is as good there as anywhere else so why pay when we can use comps. (booze and tip not included)
We went to the steak house. Dinner cost was $155! but free with comps. Had to wait an hour for a table so I gambled a bit and was down then did a bit more and walked away up $347!! Plus grabbed $20 in drinks to take home for free. Dinner was really good and we had a fun time. Putting all the cash on my credit card because I had to order tickets for my sister and she is away on vacation for 2 weeks now so she will pay me when she returns. All works out.

Sunshine is shining here today and I think it will be a productive day at work!

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Tons of maple syrup and maple items. Then the usual festival food. Fudge, buttertarts, pickles on a stick, baked goods, meat products (salami etc) etc. We went late afternoon but there wasn't as many vendors as in other years so not sure if they just decided not to set up because of the weather or what.
