    Good Morning Everyone,
I got all of the bedding washed and beds re-maid Saturday as well I did all of the couch blankets. I also did the regular laundry which sounded like a good idea when I started but part way through I did regret it. I find right now in the late afternoon, early evening I get really tired, I think it is the lack of sleep. So part way through doing the laundry I got really tired but I was able to finish the laundry including folding everything and putting everything away.

Yesterday I woke up with my back really bothering me but it was my lower back and my side was only slightly tender so I do not think it was my Gallbladder causing the pain. Because of how I felt I had a bit of a lazy day yesterday, caught up on some of my shows and I actually fell asleep for a little bit in the afternoon.

Today I hope to get some cooking done. I did not do any cooking last weekend because I left on Sunday. Dinners were not an issue but lunch was tricky as we did not have anything in the fridge I could eat. So this week's lunches were kind of interesting, I would like to avoid that this week.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day

Yesterday I bought groceries at Sobeys. I used $12 in coupons, $80 in Air Miles, $27oop. I redeemed 2 rain checks and earned some Air Miles too. I also got the $10gc wub $100. Good thing I did that instead of the 100AM bonus because they had to manually give me a $10gc at Customer Service because the system didn’t do it properly.

In the afternoon we took our kids swimming. It was the reward that ds has picked for reading 3 double sided pages of books in his reading log. Last time he picked a family bowling night.

    Hi all!
Cleaned the kitchen and have dishwasher running now from weekend dishes. I boiled eggs for my afternoon snack at work. I made oatmeal for my breakfast tomorrow. My smaller mason jars are in dishwasher so i will make oatmeal for the rest of the week tomorrow night. I will be making fancy smoothies all week for an evening treat. I have tons of frozen fruit including avocado that im excited to try out.
Laundry is in the go. DS has boxed up his clothes and filled the laundry baskets. Im just doing a bit each night and putting it away as i go.

Today was a catch up day of laundry, vacuuming, groceries and cutting the grass(DH). Kind of a chilly day here-but at least it is not raining.

Today I did 4 loads of laundry but over stuffed the 3 washers in the laundry room. one of dryers seemed not to work as well switched it out after 20 mins left on one dryer after I had folded those clothes that had less in it. My buildings machines are on rent from this place called coinmatic and always seem to be breaking down or not pumping out enough heat it’s lame. They really need to be serviced more often not just when they breakdown.

Tomorrow’s appointment has changed from 6 to 5pm. So I cannot do this other appointment in my building at 4:30pm because I leave in 10mins after it starts in order to walk into town to be at my appointment for 5pm.

I made this pasta casserole yesterday it has canned tomatoes, beans, and corn with Italians seasonings, black pepper, garlic powder, & onion powder. Layered was lactose free marble cheese and Asiago. After it was baked I mixed in sour cream and salt & pepper to taste on my plate it was delicious. I think I may have that again tonight for dinner. Do you believe me that I made this casserole at 7:30am, and had it for breakfast at 8:15am?!?! I have perogies tomorrow for dinner or maybe lunch.

Anyway I am starving I had oatmeal for breakfast a huge bowl at 10am. And chips for lunch and now I am getting hungry for something more.

Hello, my friends- long time no check in. I am always impressed at your combinations of ways to reduce your OOP while finding good food to buy.

I am currently in Niagara Falls to give myself time away to remember my DH as tomorrow would have been our 15th anniversary. I send a rose off over the falls in remembrance.

I will be spending some time going over to the States to mail off a parcel of goodies to my grandkids. I missed Easter as I had just moved. A new Thrift Shop has opened in Kitchener an I managed to find a whole series of Beatrix Potter hardbacks minibooks for .50 a piece.

I will also try to get a bit of shopping done for me. I'll start with the local Value Village as it is Senior's day tomorrow, so 30% off.

I also want to check out the park where I will marry my cousin and her fiance this August. Yes, I am still performing marriages after I took most of last year off.

Wishing you a fun and frugal start to your week.

Is there anyone who lives around Niagara who can give me advise on good deals?

There is Kohl’s in Amherst on Niagara Falls blvd that is always worth the drive in my opinion. I also like the Big Lots on Military by the outlet mall, if you have never been to Aldi for groceries check them out too. It’s been months since I have been over and I miss it.

Sorry for going awol, life has been...challenging.

To read the happy part of this post, go to the end. Trust me, although it starts off depressing, it will put a smile on your face.

I took a break from, well, life so I could spend as much time as possible with Lily dog while I still had the chance. And I am very happy I made that decision. At the end of Sept, a month after her 15th birthday, I lost my sweet girl. Of course, Lily being Lily, she had a Hollywood ending. I went to get some cheese from the fridge and Lily dog, who was still wobbly from the stroke she'd had 6 months prior, came running over like a crazy pup, grabbed it from my hands, and wolfed down a block of cheese. She was quite pleased with herself that she managed to get away with it. "I hope you're happy, cause that's all the cheese we have and it'll be a few days before I get to the store", I told her. I swear she smiled, wagged her tail, then went off to take a nap. I was consoling Quincy cat, who was miffed he didn't get any cheese (although he only wanted it to prevent Lily dog from eating it), when I suddenly realized it was too quiet. I went to check on her and she looked so peaceful, as if she were in a deep sleep. But I knew she was gone. Her death hit me really hard. She was my last real tie to my parents (they loved Quincy cat, but Lily, although my dog, was their baby). Thank goodness for Quincy cat, he saved my sanity last fall. After a week of being quiet and depressed, he turned into a crazy kitten, chasing his tail and stealing my socks.

Meanwhile, I had had my annual testing and some weird things showed up. Again. So...I had a boatload of tests throughout the fall. The initial blip seemed to indicate cancer. After MRIs, ultrasounds, x-rays, bloodwork, etc, etc, I got a clean bill of health. Thank goodness! I have had some other weird things going on (jury is out on whether it's fainting spells or seizures, since nothing shows up on tests - some weird idiopathic thing, me being me).

Over the last few months, I lost a few of the fish, gained a few needing homes. Halloween was hard, for the first time in a long time I didn't have the heart to dress up Quincy cat, since his partner in crime wasn't there (Lily dog LOVED wearing clothes, and especially the attention - adoration? - of all). Xmas was quiet, I spent it alone with Quincy cat. I was supposed to have a nice dinner with friends, but they were all sick with a nasty bug that would not quit (bff, who hasn't been sick in a decade, was out of commission for over a month!). Got the news that I was healthy just before Xmas (yay for a nice present!) and started the search for a new roommate cause the home was too quiet. That didn't go very well. You would think in a city the size of Toronto, it would be easy to find a dog. It seems these days, no one will sell you a dog unless you have a house with a fenced-in yard and children. Since I have neither, apparently I'm not deemed qualified to have a canine companion. Had one pup lined up who fell through at the last minute. At first I was devastated, but it was for the best - the pup was a dead ringer for Lily dog, right down to the same toes being white. It was eerie. It just wouldn't have been fair to that pup or me, it wouldn't be intentional, but I know I would be making constant comparisons to Lily dog. And that's not right. January and most of February was brutal down here, with tons of ice. The way the street was salted, I don't know which was worse, cause I kept slipping on both. bff actually fell on the ice and tore a muscle. Ouch.

I had given up any thought of having a new pup, when a friend called me the morning of Family Day. Her friend's co-worker's neighbour had a litter of puppies needing good homes, and she thought of me and managed to get their number. I called the folks, told them I was still mourning the loss of my companion of nearly 15 years, and was asked whether I could pick up a pup that day! They had 2 girls left. It was hard to choose, since both girls were adorable, but I went with vanity and chose the cuter pup (her sister was a solid blonde with no highlights). I think I ended up choosing the crazy one, or maybe I made her crazy? At any rate, Quincy cat is still adjusting to having a canine in the house, and is being very gentle with her. He has yet to use his claws on her nose, although she can be rather obnoxious on her insistence that he play.

My goal for the girl is to have her be my assistant, more or less like Lily dog made my life easier, but with a few other duties. We'll see. She seems to have the temperament for it even if she is petite (hoping for a growth spurt), let's hope I don't mess up her training (it's always human error!).

So, now we're happy again. At least I am, not too sure about Quincy cat, although he does like to torment the girl by lying just outside of paw's reach and playing with one of her toys when she's in her crate. Typical cat. And the pup is the happiest dog I've ever met. She loves everyone and everything, has no fear, thinks the world is here to adore her (judging by the reactions of people we pass on the street, she's not far off the mark) and is way too smart for her own good. She learned to unlock her crate 3 days after I brought her home (she was 8 weeks old at the time). She learns things very quickly, although she has the attention span of a fruit fly. She thinks vacuum cleaners and garbage trucks are evil, tiny flower pots are out to get us, but stilt walkers, large balloons, loudspeakers blaring live music and giant flamingos are all great. Gotta love living in downtown Toronto.

Without further ado, I'd like to introduce Ivy dog.
    Attachment 351619
This little girl is almost 5 months old, a bundle of energy and happiness, and is always on the hunt to cause mischief. And, yes, she looks like a cartoon character, with one ear up and one down. bff's Mom calls her a Disney dog. She's part golden retriever (the "I LOVE people" part) and part Australian Shepherd (the brilliant mad scientist part) and all crazy (the puppy part).

Will try to post more often, but someone thinks that sleep is over-rated (someone didn't get the memo that puppies are supposed to sleep all the time - she slept the first week in my arms at night, then had to be moved to the crate cause she wanted to play 24/7 and would chew on me to get her point across - she has not changed her mind yet!). Yes, I am sleep-deprived, but it is so worth it. Oh and her personality is the complete opposite of Lily dog, so I have a lot of adjusting to do. Ivy dog LOVES water - she likes to go out in the rain, will jump in any puddle she can find, tries to climb in water dishes (she has a teeny bowl now to cut down on the wet floors) and likes to dig in mud and mulch given the chance. She is, to say the least, a handful.

Morning! So nice to start the work week on a Tuesday! Which reminds me that I need to plan some time off in the summer and will aim for the Tuesday after long weekends to enjoy it even more and have a super short week!

My youngest DS started his first job on the weekend He is so excited. He asked me if he can open a 2nd bank account and he wants to put 5% in one for spending and 95% in the other for saving!!! So happy he wants to start off being a saver

Tonight- Drive DS to work and pick him up. In between that I am doing laundry and prepping food for the week. And hit the gym an hour before I have to pick him up since it should be quiet then. I have been doing awesome with my healthy eating. Having everything ready for work makes the difference. I am not even craving junk which is awesome. I feel so much better already. (was feeling sluggish and knew it was crappy food choices lately doing it to me) I love the frozen raspberries I bought (PC brand) They taste awesome frozen even! So will really be stocking up on the fruit since I can do so much with it. I bought frozen blueberries to make some sort of healthy scone/muffin. I need to google a recipe and try them this week. Would be great for DS to grab and go in the morning.

If finished my online concussion course yesterday morning. My final grade is 93%. I’m quite happy with that.

Dh tilled the garden twice this spring. I’ve spent time weeding, levelling it out, and picking rocks. So many rocks in the garden from before we bought the house. Our neighbour’s garage is directly against my large raised vegetable garden. When it was built, a lot of gravel was poured into my garden. I still pick rocks out of it every year. I bought my tomato plants from my lady at the farmer’s market for $2 a pot. They’re not very big because we have had a pretty cold spring. I have seeds soaking in the kitchen and plans to plant some later today. I’ll grow about 15 varieties of vegetables this year.

Ds lost both of his front teeth this weekend. He looks pretty cute. We can already see the adult teeth that are waiting to come in.
