Depends where you live I guess.
The Walmart’s in my area which is 4 closest to me only PM with stores closed by.
Where as where my sister lives the PM Ontario wide still
Do you mind me asking what area your sister lives in?
From what I have heard from many Price Matching across Ontario has been hit or miss for quite some time now.
To be honest I rarely Price Match at Wal-Mart as I found it was becoming too difficult. I found most of our local stores I shop in were doing everything in their power to deny price matches. Sadly I find Loblaw Banner stores are becoming the same.
As well I do find most stores are Price Matching less and less of their competition. I saw one woman disagreeing with a Cashier who said they do not view Giant Tiger as a competitor and would not Price Match them. Also was told a "new" chain store (No Frills) was not being Price Matched as the old location is outside their Price Matching Territory but "Head Office" has not acknowledge the new store opening and there were not allowed to Price Match them or they could written up or dismissed for breaking the rules. So I gave up on Price Matching at Wal-Mart a year or so ago.
in my opinion, it's hit or miss.
it really depends on the cashier you deal with. Some of them even just look at price and sale date.
My Walmart still price matches all stores.
Walmart's price matching is a corporate policy. A local store can't just decide to NOT do it. But also realize that it has to be reasonable.
Their policy states that it has to be a locally advertised price. (ie: You cant price match an ad from a Vancouver BC store if you live in Hamilton, ON)
And it cant be clearance pricing, going out of business, etc...
But the store can't just simply object because they don't want to.
I'd address this with Walmart corporate if you feel your local store isnt being cooperative.
Thank You for your input. The store for my location is Major Mac and Weston Road.
A nearby Walmart Supercenter on May 2nd posted small square RED signs at each cash listing the major retail competitors they would price match going forward. A yellow jacketed head cashier said that FOR NOW they would still accept all competitor circulars for matching.
A week later I was back. The RED signs were gone. I matched all the stores I wanted as in the past, without let or hindrance.
I'll keep you posted should those dreaded RED signs with a shrunken list of price match competitors re appear in Montreal.
I am in the West end of Montreal and so far so good. I only price match competitors within a 50 km radius of Montreal. So far, I have not been denied as long as I have the Reebee or app.
I rarely price match at Walmart but i did call the store in Aurora a few weeks ago and CS told me that they only price match what shows up on FLIP. I have not put it to the test but if the information is correct it im sure it would be by using their postal code in the flip app.
