    Morning!

I had a fun shop on Sat I spent $26 on a basil potted plant, a whole watermelon, bunch of bananas, 2 orange peppers, 4 pineapples, bag of McCain fries, 8 Kind bars, 4x French's 1L ketchup 4 x Breyers non dairy ice cream.. I price matched, used $15 in coupons and received back almost 5,000 Pc pts.
Was able to stop at a Loblaw's yesterday while traveling with a friend and bought 5 x Dove shampoo/cond and 6 x Dove bar soap and used the coupons. The cashier took off an extra $1.50 coupon I noticed once home which was a bonus!

We ended up near the casino at 8pm last night so went in to have dinner and watch the 1st half of raptors game. We split a large salad and pizza. And ordered chicken parm and butter chicken to take home for our lunch/dinner today. Just ate for free and left Went home and enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the last bit of the game. It was a busy weekend and I slept well.

@Giseledta . What is the best way to re-plant the basil plant. In the ground or in a large pot? I'm hoping to have lots to freeze for winter use.

Was delighted to finish weeding and turning garden soil over last Friday morning then sowed seeds for most things in one half of the garden! Mind you, my body protested all weekend. Mom's keen to use the other half of the garden-it's on her to sow seeds or plant nursery stock. I also put out a plastic barrel (scrubbed it mind you-not sure what the ooze drips were but label says BASF so Ms. Palmolive detergent got some action with a scrub brush on the interior and exterior of the barrel) to collect rain (not much saved given the Saturday night and early Sunday rains). I too want some basil in the garden--was looking at seed packs on Sunday but dithered, so I did not buy any. Maybe I'll get a packet in town and get the basil into the ground later this week. I have two mesclun lettuce mixes sown, lavender, oriental poppy, alyssum (yes I want some flower power in the garden for bee action), green snap peas, Nantes carrots (yes, I have to keep on top of watering or face forked roots), tarragon, rosemary (as a border around most of garden-2 pkts and need 1 more), & red radishes. I will be truly surprised if I do see something growing or harvestable in each area planted. Oh yes, I tossed 12 of the San Marzano tomato seeds down as well, and three parsley seed mats my late Dad had a packet of. Ought to be interesting and the fishing net cover is actually a rectangular float cover of a kind, held down by 8 plastic garden stakes (see the benefits of organizing one's mini-barn contents? You know where stuff is located!) to help ensure rabbits or other wildlife don't take seeds away or try to eat anything that surfaces this week during germination.

Managed to do a small shop at Sobey's on Saturday-promptly forgot that I placed my AM card on the ledge by the card terminal and walked away...3h later, where is my AM card??? Went back to store on Sunday afternoon and got it back (showed my receipt and ID). Customer ahead of me on Sunday almost walked away from his AM card on the same ledge but cashier saved him!

Went to two Shoppers-only one has Pepsi Zero but without the contest banner. Rexall's 2 for $4 Pepsi includes the limited edition juice version but even their regular and Diet Pepsi bottles are contest bannerless. Zipped into the nearby Dollarama for one regular Pepsi and told myself to give up the Zero quest and to stop buying pop bottles. I have 5 cap codes to enter next week when the grand prize is the $10K (yes, I have shopping ideas...)! I did get one pack of stamps at Rexall for 10% off so I am happy with that purchase.

Seniors 60+-tomorrow is Senior's Day at the Bay stores! I wish I had enough Air Miles to cash in for a $10 e-gcard but that will have to be another time. Plan to go with Mom to see if anything summery appeals to her before the clothing is sold out as it's June and so many deals have happened in May already for clothing. Noticed some summer slides (Malvados) on Simon's site that might interest her but the size is not there for her size.
If Mom decides to visit Millers Shoes for anything dressy, I have a 10% off regular price coupon from last year (no expiry date) to apply. I saw heels in a vibrant colour but they are too high for her--they have a decent chunky heel though.

I riffled through my coupons and realized that YOP protein/smoothie coupons expire at the end of June (yikes, thought the expiry was longer) as does the John Frieda $3 off coupon and Pure Protein bars coupon. Have them pulled out so they have a chance at being used this month.

School buses are in use as shuttles for the RBC Open in Ancaster. They come in along Wilson St. E. to Halson, drop off passengers on Golf Links Rd then go on Southcote Rd to return back to the fairgrounds. Police are keeping Halson monitored. Even the municipal parking lot has someone asking drivers if they are going to the municipal centre or old town hall. Some businesses near the muncipal centre have monitored lots-some are in use for certain tournament parking lots or have signage about authorized parking. One acquaintance told me that the RBC Insurance lot by Ryerson Church has only three spots for customers/staff-most staff have to park off-site elsewhere during this week. Pity.

Weekend grocery shopping-lettuce and cuke from Longos, plus their watermelon lemonade (made with cane sugar and it's grand!), Nutella ($4.99 sale for 475g jar) and a few other things. Bought Minigo at Fortinos; at Sobeys, I got two Clif fruit smoothie filled bars (tart cherry berry rocks-it's sort of firm on outside and soft-baked on inside and so yummy) with two tetra boxes of Dream Blends coco-almond beverages ($2.49 each). Of course, I had to get some seaweed snacks at Shoppers too. Weekend has been sort of hot one day and sort of chilly-warm the next day. Kind of makes mealtime choices a bit tricky-I'm eating what I feel the ambient temperature seems to dictate.

Could not find Longos sea dulse at my store. It must have been de-listed, along with the store brand's bite-size frozen fruit blend. They will be missed.

Sibling has a tub of Chapman's Premium strawberry shortcake ice cream. I had a sample and am not a fan unless strawberry is part of a neopolitan or other flavour mix. Need some ice cream to use in the sugar cones lurking in the pantry cupboards!

So I decided to take it easy and have spent most of the day laying down, although I was not able to actually fall asleep.

To all the ladies who have had their Gallbladder out, right after surgery what was your diet like? I know nothing High in Fat, Deep Fried. But talking to people I know who had it done I am getting mixed message on the 2 to 3 days after surgery. 1 Person told me liquid for a week, Other said liquid for 2 to 3 then soft foods. Other have said soft foods for a week. I am prepared for a soft food diet but not if they tell me liquids only.
You have to ask your surgeon if there are any restrictions.

Everyone I know who had this done (including myself) ate normally afterwards, but avoided high fat, fried foods.

Redeemed for my free product before my one year anniversary with Clinique. Won $200 at the casino on the weekend and it's going straight to my credit card bill. Shoppers optimum offers are so frequent now, almost everyday. Reading an interesting book called The Au Pair - stayed up late last night reading it.
