Good Afternoon Everyone,
Looks like I will be working well into the night and maybe tomorrow as well. I am working on a mass upload/download which includes some new products I added this week and announced to the company today. Someone objected to name of one of the products so I needed to change the name only issue was I was part way through the mass upload/download so all of that has been lost and after I made the change I needed to re start.
Okay, I am home I have had time to process and although we had the money in our grocery budget I have to be honest, I am feeling so guilty over a few things I got. I got the following:
4 x Tortillas $1 (on the fence about this one, did we need them?)
1 x Bacon $3 (we did not need but I wanted to splurge for the weekend, now I feel guilty)
2 x Blackberry $1
1 x Cantaloupe $1
1 x Pineapple $1
1 x Lemons 2lbs $4 (not happy about the price but lemons help kidney stones & I feel a cold coming on so I am drinking Honey & Lemon)
2 x Naturally Imperfect Mushrooms $3.97
3 x Frozen Veggies $2 (Okay, we need veggies, but maybe I should have just grabbed 1 bag)
6 x Fries $1 (Did not need these but having them so helps curve the take out, so did we need?)
2 x Sour Cream $1.97
16 x Cake Mix $1 (Okay total guilt here, I use these all the time for baking and they curve the buying sweets but yeah)
12 x Mushroom Soup $1 (We needed, but yeah still)
All and all I spent just over $60 which is totally within the budget which I thought setting the budget would make me feel better but now I still feel guilty. Grrr being in my brain sometimes is exhausting.
Moving on, on the good news front, Mom got a cheque she was not expecting which means she was able to cover all of her bills even after having to take time off with Benny (her kidney stone) so win there.
Tonight's dinner is Teriyaki Chicken over Leftover Rice we have the fridge and some mixed veggies.
Alright back to work. Have a great night everyone2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I get paid this coming Wednesday I have an appointment with mental health over it. My appointment was cancelled today and rescheduled for next Friday.
And I applied for new shoes fund from the ministry. Supposedly it will be direct deposited in my account early next week. Just in time for pay day.
I was with my mom all day yesterday we went to freshco and freshco is nothing to write home about. It’s quite lame to be honest. Lots of ethnic foods but not much else for food.

Quiet day today. DH seems to have had an allergic reaction to something where he got his hair cut yesterday-very odd as he always goes there and as far as we know he has no allergies. He was covered in itchy hives so I have been dosing him with Benadryl-wish we knew what it was. Anyway hopefully by tomorrow he will be feeling better and this is a one off. Kind of puts a damper on Valentines but hopefully it is short lived. I am leaving Sunday for a week so I would like to see him feeling better before I go.

If he is not feeling better tomorrow he might want to see a doctor, I only say this as a couple years ago I thought I was having an allergic reaction as I had been chasing my niece through the grass (which I am allergic too) in flats so feet were exposed and that is where the reaction was. With that being said I tried Benadryl but it was barely helping so I went to the doctor to find out it was sand fleas. But he told me if a reaction does not get about 50% better after a full day of Benadryl it is not an allergic reaction.

Hi it is pizza night here. We are watching Disney Descendants 3. I really dislike these movies (very corny). My daughters love them. Sacrifice for love...
...and food!
@SassyAshley if you are going to use the groceries, food is always a sound investment. Hubby and I always say, we gotta eat! With a gluten free child in the household and attempting to eat fresh, we spend $250 a week for a family of 5. About $50 per person per week is average (or so I was told). We also agree that our time is more valuable than our money so we no longer travel to another store get a $1 off or spend the extra time coupon clipping/price matching. There is nothing wrong with these things of course, but it is about prioritizing what is important for yourself/your family.
So is your budget realistic and will you use the food? I hope you can shrug the guilt."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

What a week. Away for work in Montreal, home late last and it was so much colder here. It’s a great way to not spend money. Tonight was salad and lasagna as I thought we had shrimp for pasta oh well, frozen lasagna is easy. After 25 years of marriage a meal out is not our idea of love. Off to plan groceries.
Happy long weekend for those lucky enough to have Monday off.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Granger, I will admit when I re did the budget I did up our grocery budget just because our eating habits have changes. We eat a lot more fresh, fruits and veggies are huge, as well we make a lot at home now vs buying which I use a lot of fruit in my baking. I have upped our budget to $200 bi weekly, my budget is based on getting paid ever other week. So I have $200 for 2 weeks, which averages out to $50/person/week.
Ultimately I only spent just over half our budget for the week, but I also know it is my own mind set. Some people hoard things, apparently I hoard money. I have this thing about always trying to spend as little as possible. But at the end of the day I know I needed to buy groceries as cooking was getting challenging. Good news is so far we do not need meat but I am sure that will come this week.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I went to SDM this morning to cash in on Valentine deals. Nothing was marked 50% on the shelves, but everything was 50% off. Which means, I got my pick! I shared the news with those shoppers who hovered long enough with me. Stocked up on Valentines for next year. Also got a couple chocolate treats for the girls that I will put away for Easter. Three little hollowed chocolate unicorns and a bunch of Kinder eggs. I paid under a $1 for the Valentine Kinders and their Easter ones were on sale $1.79 a piece.
Today will be a lounging day. Sort the bills and clean up the budget, laundry and tidying. I call it recalibrating for the week ahead. I have some school work to do too which has been piling up due to job action. I will tackle some marking too. I am happy I don't have to think about another strike day until next Friday and am looking forward to three days in a row of teaching."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Did not get much done today as I had a slow start to the day. I slept in which always means I lack ambition. With that being said sleeping in for me is 7 am.
I got up and the first thing I tackled was the work project I did not get done yesterday. I wanted it done and off my plate so I do not have to think about it for the rest of the weekend. I was done by 11 am which made me happy but took up most of my morning.
We did not clean the kitchen last night so I cleaned the kitchen this morning, loaded the dishwasher, ran the dishwasher and by the time it was done we had eaten so I emptied and re loaded the dishwasher.
The other day well I was digging through the freezer I found some extremely freezer burnt strawberries. So I decided to try to turn them into Strawberry Butter. I was winging it as I did not look up a recipes but after making 5 different fruit butters for Christmas I was feeling pretty confident. It took about 4 hours to cook down but the Strawberry butter is done and in the fridge, thinking I might pear it with some waffles.
I also started a crochet project. Right after Christmas I made a Christmas picture I was planning to keep for myself but once it was done I saw a few things I did not like so I re worked the pattern and am now trying take 2. I will post my first run at it for sale.
There is so much I should have done today but I didn't. Oh well, I feel guilty but I had a blah day it happens. My back is starting to feel better so I will review my to do list later tonight and see what I can tackle this coming week. I am hoping to talk Mom into helping with the freezer(s) tomorrow.
Well off to make dinner, tonight are having Steak Sandwiches with Oven Fries with either gravy on the side or Poutine, we will see what Mom wants.
Have a wonderful night everyone2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
