Great job.. Like you I tend to spend more to stock up, but then don't have to buy much for a month or so. It sure feels good knowing if anything happened, we would not go hungry for quite a while. Look forward to reading your weekly reports, they are a great inspiration.

Awesome. I'm going to start tracking my weekly shops and see if I can get my average down. We only have family of 4 but my teen son eats enough to feed a small army.
Looking for FPC for almost everything. Growing teen boy eating me out of house and home. Visit my facebook page www.facebook.com/UneekCreations Will trade finished product from my Etsy shop.

Thanks so much for this post; it gave me the idea to start this with my family as well, I think it will be fun knowing the average of my monthly food bills.

I shred my cheeses first and then freeze them. It's wonderful to have on hand - easy to add to any dish (scrambled eggs, chilis, pasta sauces, quiche et al...right from frozen). When I froze it in a brick, it was all crumbly and too moist once thawed and doesn't slice well at all. So my tip is shred and freeze!
