Cath, so far I have been able to price match at No Frills but I have not tried to use any coupons.
As far as reusable bags go, slowly the stores in our area are starting to ask we do not use them and are not charging for plastic bags. Although I will note No Frills has not mentioned anything and nothing has been said about using reusable bags.
With this being said I know I am spending more on groceries, although I am not hoarding food I do find at times when I see things we may need I am more inclined to grab it but am trying to stick to my normal price points. With that being said I still need to go over the budget. As well when I was in my basement yesterday I noticed I am down to 1 of a couple things and my first thought was oh maybe I will grab one more when I go out this week.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Morning Everyone,
Mom is still home sick, I think it is a cold (although who knows), but she thinks it is more. Not sure if she has called the doctor yet, I am in a conference call this morning. With this being said I am a little frustrated as she does not want to take anything I have on hand, I did buy some extra over the counter meds just to have on hand.
Waking up to snow this morning actually may have helped my anxiety as it now makes me want to stay home. I do still want to grab some more cleaner as cleaning is also helping calm my anxiety. I really want to scrub down all our floors now that I have a mop. I know it may sound weird but like I said cleaning is really helping my anxiety.
Trying to work away right now, I really see everyone slowing down right now so I will push forward with my projects.
Have a great day everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

morning-was up at 4.00 a.m so did a load of laundry and baked muffins -only I ruined them ,as I tried to use up a bit of rice flour in with all purpose and it made the muffins dense (I will make a dessert out of the muffins warm then up with a bit of maple syrup on it for tonight)
Daughter called me,she is so busy with work but had to run out to shoppers to get laundry soap (this is where I wish my kids followed in my footsteps and stocked a tiny bit more) the shoppers she was at in Toronto had no dish soap ,no hand soap,no toilet paper and hand towels )S he told me she will use their tea towels more .
Did 15 minutes of exercise this morning -new to me .Last edited by coupon girl; Mon, Mar 23rd, 2020 at 02:25 PM.

@Cathy . I just used a coupon at Food Basics no problem this morning. The $5 one when you buy taco kit and $5 worth of produce. Bought 2 bags of clementines and a bunch of bananas.

This might be an add statement and do not get me wrong I understand how serious this virus is.
But it was nice to go onto some websites today and see stories that are not all Covid-19 and a few "normal" stories.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Making this work at home thing productive. I notice everyone else is very quiet. Did some work then cleaned out the fridge. I have half a package of bacon cooking now and cut up a cantaloupe. I will pop out for groceries later today or tomorrow.
Tomorrow i am cooking up a bunch of stuff. Once kitchen is clean i will go to freezer and decide what to pull out.
My oldest teaches one on one guitar lessons on Monday. He has moved to digital to those interested.Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Mon, Mar 23rd, 2020 at 11:56 AM.

Had a nice Skype visit with DD and her boyfriend yesterday and this morning DH and I finished our taxes. Unfortunately we owe but... I am including a recipe for cauliflower soup if anyone is interested. I think it is delish.
Cauliflower Soup
Ingredients
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 cups diced onion
1 tsp salt
4 cups diced cauliflower or one pkg cauliflower rice
2 cups low sodium chicken broth
3 Tbsp butter
3 Tbssp flour
2 cups warmed milk
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried mustard
Pepper
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
Heat the olive oil and add the onions and salt. Cook till the onions turn golden.. Add cauliflower and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Add broth and bring to a boil. Cook cauliflower till tender about 10 minutes. While cauliflower cooks melt butter in a frying pan until foaming. Add flour and whisk. Flour should brown then add warm milk and whisk till smooth. Add to soup. Add Worcestershire, mustard, pepper, thyme, and cheese. Stir till smooth.
