you can get an additional 8 weeks if you are earning less than 1,000 per month-for people who applied in the beginning the payments will cover until the end of August although some can get into Oct if they got it later or skipped some payments-the maximum for any one person is 24 weeks( 16 weeks plus 8 additional).

On EI there is more pressure,report filing,work search effort etc to get back to work than on CERB.
At this point I don't think they care about people's health/life anymore - they just want to open up the economy and jobs. They are willing to accept dead people as collateral damage.
The CERB has paid out $43.51 billion to 8.41 million people as of June 4.
Included in the payments is $20.56 billion from the EI account to 3.96 million EI-eligible workers who exhausted benefits and couldn’t find work due to the pandemic.
At its height, the CERB paid out $17 billion a month when eight million people were on it, but numbers have declined as 1.2 million recipients returned to work or went back on payrolls with help of the federal wage subsidy program.

Dad was recalled last week to work .He will work 2 days a week and dont gain more tham 1000$ a month so he will still get the CPU.That is a very good new for him! :)

I got the call that they're ready to have me back working in a limited capacity. According to my figures, I'll make less than 1k until business picks up.
Would I still receive 2k or will EI/CERB just be the difference? Also, would I be applying to the CRA instead of EI now?
I think you would just keep applying through EI as you started and I believe you will keep it all if you earn less than 1,000 in the 4 week period. I am sure you will be redirected if you should be using the Service Canada website instead.
Yes you should get the full 2,000 if you're making less than 1,000 in 4 weeks. Remember 1,000 will be gross and not net pay, so pretty easy to go above 1,000 in 4 weeks!Quote:

OAS and GIS recipients getting their one time Covid stimulus this week. Not much, but helps a bit.
Most people won't pay much taxes due to CERB payments, but if you make a high income in the later half of 2020 or made a high income before you started getting CERB, you might get a tax shock next year as this $2,000/month is fully taxable and currently they are NOT withholding tax from it.
