I just got told by my eye Dr., that I can buy these glasses at any drug store, but I am finding its so low a prescription that they don't sell it. Anyone know where they might sell them. I've tried Zellers and Shoppers so far. I'm going to check out the dollar store and walmart too.

+0.75 ( most stores seem to start at +1.00 or +1.25)

    Thanks!

If you have your prescription check out clearly contacts .ca as they have some wonderful sales and occasionally even give aways so you can have designer glasses for so little. I suggest this because my daughter has a few pairs and they are really nice glasses. I have alot of dollar store reading glasses but I started getting them when I needed +125.

Stock seems to vary so much at different stores - just try every store you happen to stop in - I don't know where you live, but our Co-op grocery store has a good selection, too.
Last fall, bought some for my husband at Michael's (who would have thought it?) - they were in a little bin not far from the cash registers.

Some Loblaws and RCSS have an eyeglass place in the store.
There's an optician technician there too.
If they don't have your prescription, they can get it.
Plus they have good sales every 3-4 months. And if you have the PC card, you will earn points.

Wal-mart also has a section by their pharmacy. If your local WM has a pharmacy you can check there. I also think they have some reading glasses outside the optometrists office.

You can also check dollarama or local dollar stores. They might be in a little case of some sort so you won't know what they are- possibly by the cash register if not in an aisle.

I was going to suggest dollarama as well. They have a big display of reading glasses in our 4 local dollaramas.

You could try going to a different optometrist's office or Lens Crafters I know lots of those stores carry non prescription eyeglasses that they keep on hand for you to purchase and they are more likely to to have more lens on hand because they specialize in selling glasses

Thanks everyone! I went to a ton of stores today, and none had the 0.75 prescription!
So in the end, I got the 1.00 one from sears ($24.00). All the other stores (dollar/shoppers/rexall/Walmart/Zellars) - only went as low as 1.25 - they were a bit blurry. (Didn't really want to drive around much more with gas being so expensive!)

so in the end, I hope its not a bit thing that I have 1.00 not 0.75. They do seem to make reading clearer, which is really I need them for right now.

Guess it will be easier to find the correct ones once I'm older and more blind...haha

I believe Rexall also carries reading glasses as well. Seems to be the inexpensive way to ensure ability to read fine print in stores or takeout shops without the expense of a formal prescription pair of eyewear.
