@Skippy May your Pepsi Throwback sips be sweet and carbonated! Excellent find at the grocery store. Local Food Basics had a few bottles in a cooler but the one I got was a bit flat (expired a month before and I don't often have this issue past a date with single serve bottles).
@coupon girl Hope you have freeze pops stocked in the freezer. It will save you when the heat picks up during the day.
@Frugalbigmama Casino queen! Marvellous Quebec adventures of your trip! Any chance that you swung by a St. Hubert's chicken location or SAQ (provincial liquor store) to check out their items that might not be available here in Ontario? Good that you are pillow swapping. Makes all the difference during the hot months. Loving my Honeydew pillow-wish I spent money for a second pillowcase but I'll launder the one I have in the morning.

Around 3:30pm today, it sounded like gumballs or gumdrops were striking the eavestroughs when the gray skies finally delivered the rain expected. Lasted all of two minutes, then a steady rain some minutes later which stopped then a third round of angry raindrops. I expect there is hail damage in local fields. I was resting but awake during this odd cycle of rain. Did a bit of yardwork mostly under trees in the shade about an hour before the rain, but onceI was in the sun to do a bit of clipping around buildings, was Ms. Sunshine ever being a meanie with her beams. Had two freeze pops and have just about 10 left to get me through this week. Need to plan some other treat. I finished the small fruit tray this morning and it was refreshing (though I realized some blueberries weren't destemmed so be careful if you have prepared tray bought from a store).

Used the last of my smoked paprika pan-frying the last burgers in the freezer for supper. Now I need to find a similar product so I can enjoy the spice's zing in rice, instant noodles and more pantry surprise pan-fries. I tried looking for the same PC Black Label item at a different Fortinos store (BTW, customers still have to queue up in one line to be directed to an open checkout, unlike the changes posted about RCSS dispensing with this protocol) location via their website, but the spice does not even show. Must be discontinued.

To add a bit of adventure to my July, I just reserved two library items at Burlington Public Library (both available-score!). One item is on order or has a long wait list on it (dvd) and second item is not in the Hamilton library system. Decided two items will make a trip worthwhile in the near future.

Hard to believe that the Tokyo Olympic Games start NEXT week. Saw ads on CBC and Radio-Canada and given the time-difference, we North Americans are going to have some excellent sports stuff during prime time and late-night to view! I really recommend that you switch between the two networks as they may be showing different angles of the same competition or covering different events on at the same time. I have to see if Radio-Canada is going to just have one reporter cover the games, do segments and post on social media as one had to do for the London 2012 Games. Are journalists going to Tokyo to work from the media room or doing the coverage at their networks' home bases using the Olympic signal feeds? I want to see the opening ceremony as I loved the drumming from the 1998 Nagano Games' opening ceremony. Plus who might sing at the venue (any big names)?

    Good Morning Everyone,
I travelled to one of our out of town branches for the day yesterday to work with a new staff member. I woke up early so I got up at 4 something was able to have a cup of tea and some breakfast before I left. As much as I never like to see two 4's in one day it was nice to have that slower start to the day vs getting up running around and running out the door.

Drive there was nice coming home not so much, I left later than I had planned and got stuck in the rain coming home. At times it was really bad and the highway I was on you cannot really pull off to the side. Made it home but after that drive I was feeling very done.

Still catching up from yesterday I only had 93 emails to go through when I got home LOL. I read them all dealt with the important stuff.

Made BBQ Chicken Caesar Wraps for dinner, we are out of fries (I need to go shopping) so we made Homemade Fries in the Air Fryer. Mom said she prefers the Homemade Fries vs Store Bought in the Air Fryer, normally this would make me happy but finding Potatoes at a good price is hard lately. Last time I bought them I paid $2.88 for a 10 lb bag.

I really need to go grocery shopping but I have to be honest, I am not feeling it right now. We will see how I feel a bit later.

    Have a great day everyone

@Ciel - No I didn't stop at either place. Don't recall seeing either really but I wasn't really looking either. Not much of a fast food kind of girl. I packed a cooler so I had healthy food on hand and wanted to sit in a restaurant since I could there And overpaid for a toasted Western with home fries and fruit but the service was great and it was nice to be out. Not much of a drinker these days so didn't bother going to look at the booze. I would have bought some wine for my friend but I read that wine cost more in Quebec so didn't bother. I probably should have went to have a look, maybe next time!

    The sun is shining!
My sister called me afternoon to warn me of a tornado warning for my area. Lots of trees down in the next town I heard.
Rain for the next few days the weather network says but we will see. DS really needs to cut the grass. Hopefully it holds off till later and he can get it done today before he goes to work.

I cooked up some pasta yesterday to make pasta salad today for DS. Will dig out some meat from the freezer too and cook it up. We have been eating very simple lately.

I took porkchops out of the freezer to cook up for the boys. Will make 3 meals that will be ready in the fridge ready to heat and eat.
Will make mashed potatoes (my mom gave me a bag to use up) green beans and they can make ceaser salad at the time.

Really need to work on using stuff up from the house freezer. Want to do this before I get our stuff from my mom's and load it back in our upright freezer that is all nice and clean

Just went to GT to take a look at the tank tops on clearance.
They had the steak packs on for $4.97 reg $8.97 so I grabbed the biggest one. (even though I have lots of steak in the freezer)
Now I have one small one cooking in strips, sliced up onions, peppers and mushrooms. Going to cook it all and make a beautiful steak sandwich on a soft bun with havarti cheese for a late lunch/early dinner. Since the boys have porkchop meals ready in the fridge I will cook up the rest of the steak tomorrow for them

Giant Tiger's flyer is showing the Saskatoon Berry Pie for the month of July. Last year, I could not find it in the Brantford store.
Am expecting local store (opening soon, though not mentioned in the flyer...) to have this pie and something from the Tradition brand of juices or maybe that cider that was in a flyer recently.

Went to Food Basics for some produce, salad dressing and two treats (the Pepsi Throwback remains flat). Never realized that Food Basics is selling Renee's (the smaller bottles) salad dressing for $4.98. I usually pay about $5.99 at Fortinos or $6.49 at Longos unless one of them has a sale (then I face no stock sometimes).

OTB cheque came in the mail. Might have to wait until Friday to cash it. There was supposed to be a thunderstorm before suppertime and nothing came of it. But there is a thunderstorm watch for tomorrow/cooler air. Bro cut most of the grass and I did some of the trim areas but due to pm heat, had to leave some for another day. Put laundry out to dry and did a quick handwash of attire worn from grasscutting. Almost everything is dry or close to being dry. Wind power can be great.

Notice the explosion of gypsy moths flying around in the past 48hours? They seem determined!

Just before noon's newstime on TV, I made a bowl of air popped corn and melted plenty of butter. It might be harder to enjoy such a treat when the theatres reopen. I was looking at the upcoming rules and ticketholders are not supposed to be in the lobby more than 15min before showtime, must only sit in reserved seats and used alternate exits at end of shows. Going to be tricky getting to a concession stand and take care of other needs before scurrying to seats before the lights dim!

    Good Morning Everyone,
I was in a different branch (closer to home) yesterday helping a different staff member. Then production asked to speak to me so we chatted and then my boss wanted to talk to me so my quick trip not so quick. I got home after 2 pm, I had planned to be home around noon LOL.

Kept it simple for Dinner last night Bacon & Tomato Sandwich which to me screams summer. Growing up like when I was little little and we were living with Grandparents this was a staple dinner. Looking back I think it is because Nanny hated cooking and this was a quick and simple dish everyone would eat.

I had some leftover Potatoes in the Fridge I tossed in the Air Fryer and they came out as perfect Hash Browns. I am so loving my Air Fryer.

I had been planning to run into Costco after I was done yesterday as I was at our location that is closest to Costco but because I left so late and my own work was piling up I skipped it.

I will check the new flyers today and see if maybe I can do a quick shop at one store to get us to next week. We are missing a few staples but we shall see.

I am seriously counting down to the weekend this week, it has just been one of those weeks, I knew going in it was going to be busy but other things have popped up that have made it even busier than planned.

    Have a great day everyone.

Wow sorry to hear, but $200 is better than paying the full amount.
