I wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if this is not the right spot. I haven't had an oil change since October 2019. I haven't driven my car much. It's a Chevy Cruze. I just checked the oil life yesterday and it's at 90%. I'm not sure if I should go in for an oil change or not? Can the engine get ruined with old oil in it? It's Dexos oil if that matters. Any advice would be much appreciated as I don't want to go in for an oil change if the car really doesn't need it.

Car manufacturers recommend changing the oil after 5000km, but I usually wait until 6000+
Old oil is unable to lubricate as well as new oil and thus decreases efficiency of the engine. Unless your oil is really old, your engine should not seize up. If you are in doubt as to your mileage, just get it changed. The cost is not that much and it may be worth it for your peace of mind.My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.
