@cath007 I had the "Mondays" yesterday-seemed a couple of simple tasks (supposedly) turned into longer than planned things. I washed the back landing rug section (mystery mud stain for 1 week) and I got complaints how wet the rug was, about the cardboard I laid on top to help sop up moisture and not wet socks...so I took the rug out. There was a lot of time trying to get 5 Robertson head screws out of the metal trim my father had used. A couple of screws were very hard to budge (rust) so time passed by just on that task alone. At night, I took the rug remnant (Dad had bought a thin non-slip area rug and cut a section for landing) and cut it down (it's a bit short on two sides but wide enough for area) and attached it to landing (new rug! Mom said something about buying one-nope). I need some double-sided tape to attach my hook & loop tape to prevent dirt etc under rug as happened with previous one. I don't have carpet tape. The non-slip part of first rug had attached to most of flooring underneath over the past several years-over 40min of scraping and vacuuming.

Did watch Black Widow too -good thing as brother came home earlier and I was near the end of the film. I made the popcorn much later-I would not have been able to eat popcorn during some of the action sequences. I rather enjoyed the deadpan delivery of lines between the two sisters.

So glad I bought those men's gloves at Giant Tiger. Today is my first day to use them as I watched the weather forecast and our area was 3 or 4C this morning. Incentive for walk-got two errands done on way and I spotted a Monopoly cup with TWO intact game stickers! Happy with find as buying Monopoly food takeout is out of question for another week.

Hamilton Public Library is limiting lamination of vaccine passports to one per person. So if staff know you had the earlier passport laminated, you won't be able to get the QR version laminated too. Apparently the free service is popular.

Simons/Maison Simons has an Instagram contest (you need a friend to tag) for two $150 Simons gift cards that ends today. It's posted in the Contest section. I am actively looking for other cash or retailer gift card contests (checking to make sure actual gift cards can also be used online, as some retailers actually have in-store use only on plastic and e-gift cards for online use only).

Steamy Kitchen has indicated that Canadian gift card winners may instead of getting stated retailer gift card receive an equal value Amazon.ca card. I entered SK's Nordstrom $100 gift card contest because I want a US gift card but would be fine with Amazon gift card (just that it does not have all the US Nordstrom items I want).

Is the laminating for Hamilton residents only?

Totally lost track of time today. I thought oh it must be about 10 am I should take a break, nope it was 12:13. So instead I made myself some lunch LOL.

They have started working on the basement, little worried as they are calling for rain on Thursday.

We got an update on the basements yesterday, they are doing the work on the basement, they are hopeful it will be done this week but cannot guarantee as there are many factors that could delay the process.

They will be replacing the drywall in our basement but it will not be until May or June of next year as we need to make it through the Spring Thaw and Spring Rain Season without leaks.

We cannot live with our basement in chaos that long so now we will put the basement back together, knowing we will have to break it down again next year for the drywall work. So yeah, that will be a fun process. We need to take everything off the shelves, clean the shelves, clean everything we took off and reorganize.

We have decided since we have cleaned the craft room the small appliances we keep in the basement and the canning/food packaging stuff will not go back into the pantry but instead live in the craftroom. That will give me some extra space.

I know I will be so happy once it is all done but right now it just feels like a lot of work but I know I got this.

I took advantage of the warm weather and we did burgers for dinner tonight. I know lots of people bbq year round. We are not those people. By the end of October that’s it until March for me. I also cut the lawn on my lunch today. The backyard grows so fast.

@coupon girl Hope you have a long working life with that watch battery! I have not been lucky with VV watch buys but I was looking at them again this weekend. Bling gets my attention.
My online watch is doing well-I pull out the winder after I take off the watch. Only problem is discolouration of watch back. Seems the metal interacts too readily with perspiration and 1/4 of back is darkened.

Found some more Monopoly stickers on my evening walk yesterday. Also about 60 cents in beer/alcohol containers! Loved the fresh air. Noticed more bus furniture has been removed in town but replacements have not come along. Hope HSR is not waiting for winter to get the work done! We could have snow in October and the bus users are without somewhere to sit or to shelter. Finally saw how one corner survey property looks-the road has been shaped (think its for 10 townhouse units)and seems excavation goes right up to the retaining wall keeping one section of completed survey next door up. The big box complex further away is still fenced but looking closer to completion. Some of it looks to have 2-storeys (light and medium gray metal, not terracota toned stucco or anything fancy), as though retail space is on ground floor and possible office space upstairs. But I thought complex would be just more big warehouses. Have to see if website offers any details.

    Good night! Sleep well, everyone.

@barbis9 As far as I know, it's not just for Hamilton residents. Anyone who has staff print off their passport can get it done (lamination by staff) right afterwards. You won't need a library card. Staff are keeping counts of how many passports they are laminating at their branches. I suggest bringing a USB stick to save your pdf file in case you need it later.

However, if you want to register your BPL card at a Hamilton library branch, you can get reciprocal borrowing privileges (free; need id and proof of address) but on a smaller scale than residents/people who study or work in Hamilton.

OMG ...I was so but so tired I crashed after dinner on the couch and now I just wake up..so bizarre..I will have difficulties to be back to sleep now...
2 possible cases of covid 19 with life project.....I feel already sick about that..not because I have covid,...but just sick about hearing covid...
For now as far as I know if the 2 persons have covid they are retired 10 days ...but we are not..so I am not agree with that manner of acting...
I had some news about financial help with life project..I will probably have the minimun witch is 50$ per week ...since I did not work before...the files are now in another hand for another point of view...wow this amount is ridiculous ...it cover nothing..not even my food or rent...

Today is my appoitement with clsc psychologist...I am sure it will be emotionnal and draining....
    Have a good day!!!

    Good Morning Everyone,
They ripped out our wooden stairs yesterday and today they removed the cement stairs. We talked to them yesterday and they said everything would be put back by the end of today. Fingers crossed it is as I still have not heard if I need to go into office tomorrow or not. I was going to ask my Dad if I could stay at his house if it wasn't done but since they say it will be done I did not ask. Honestly, I always prefer sleeping in my own bed when I can.

Fajita Bake was a partial success, Mom felt I used too many peppers which I did normally I would use 2 but I used 4 or 5 because they needed to be used up. Me I do not care, up the veggies wherever I can but when it comes to Peppers Mom does not feel the same.

Tonight I am going to make Slow Cooker Chicken & Potatoes with Garlic and Parmesan. I am really trying to use my slow cooker more on days I work from home because I finally can. Back when I was in the office full time most of my days were 10+ hours and very few things can be in a slow cooker that long.

Again day, another to-do-list and things to get done.

    Have a great day everyone

@cath007 Hope that your first session offered you some insights today. Thanks for the reminder about PC Optimum points-I'll check to see which offers to move ahead.
@SassyAshley -stunned on the stairs removal. The contractor better keep word, but if there's any damage, will survey manager provide any repair cash? I have a feeling that the outside work is to allow contractors more time to do work without having to contact each and every household for indoor access.
Don't forget to check any foundation or exterior utility meter (gas if you have one) for any damage issues.

Light rain started just before 2pm today. I tried to watch The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (some great location scenery) but the F-word is used so often, and 15min into movie, I stopped it (did not help that Mom was coming into and exiting from the living room). So I watched a cat video and carried on. Found some chocolate and I will owe Bro one chocolate bar (got 80 cents for containers so far).
Another tea morning and that set me to cooking some lentils with spices for breakfast. I will hold off on laundering my comforter until a colder day (coming soon) is here, to make the laundering effort worth my time.

Time to walk back home as sky has brightened up and fluffy clouds are out in number! I will be back online later.

I posted Snugglebugz's Flash Sale offer in Deals. Today only!
