Always check the CBSA website and the US customs website plus Passport Canada for travel advisories and new updates to COVID rules. Oh, and if you intend to rely on the Arrive Can app, make sure you follow its Twitter account so you can find out the days that the app is not working due to system maintenance issues!
From what the Canadian media has reported, Canadians usually run into problems returning from the US side to Canada because either the border agents don't know the latest update (which will cost travellers money) or they encounter agents insisting on digital passports and refuse to look at paper copies of the vaccine passports.
If you don't have funds and credit card room to cover unexpected tests, costs to stay longer in US etc., don't risk going over the land border. You might get an agent having a bad day that will make your return trip a real issue.Last edited by Ciel21; Wed, Dec 29th, 2021 at 09:46 PM.
