Note, these dates are for direct-deposits of the above payments. Cheques in the mail may take up to 5 business days to receive, assuming no delays in postal operations/weather disruptions of mail service.

July 15 - First Climate Action Initiative i.e Carbon Rebate Payment should come.

The first payment will be double in July, as April payment which they are not paying, will be added to it.

50% in July, 2022 (Double Payment)
    25% in Oct, 2022 and
    25% in Jan 2023.

After that going forward it will be paid:

25% each in April, July, Oct and Jan.

THanks for the date on the CAI payment date! So much for doing a spree in one go!
GST comes out July 5, OTB July 10 so likely July 11 payment etc.

A FEW benefits will increase in July - 2022 for certain people & age groups.

    ---------
Chrystia Freeland details $8.9B in measures to tackle affordability in first major speech since budget

    The 'Affordability Plan'
The measures already announced by the federal government in the 2022 budget and cited by Freeland in today's speech include:

Boosting the Canada Workers Benefit by $1.7 billion this year. Individual workers can now receive up to $1,395 a year in benefits, while a family can qualify for up to $2,403 annually. Those amounts would be boosted by $1,200 for individuals and $2,400 for families.

Increasing Old Age Security (OAS) by 10 per cent, providing up to $766 in new support in the first year starting in July for those 75 and older.

Providing a one-time Housing Affordability Payment of $500 for low-income Canadians.

Reducing the cost of child care by an average of 50 per cent by year's end and bringing it to an average cost of $10 a day by 2025-26.

Providing free dental coverage for Canadians earning less than $90,000 a year, beginning with children under 12, in 2022.

Increasing benefits indexed to inflation, including OAS, the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), the Canada Pension Plan, the Canada Child Benefit and the GST credit.

The federal government says the GIS is already 4.9 per cent higher than it was a year ago because of inflation, and that other indexed benefits will also increase.

With the laptop in my hands today, I went to update my CRA account. As of Feb. 7, 2022, MyAccount requires an e-mail address!

I managed to update my direct deposit info (tip: look for financial institution number on Google (a Wikipedia article) if you don't know what three digit code (financial institution number) applies to your account (handy for those of who don't have or don't use cheques at this time). i.e. CIBC is 010.

Good to know the October 14 date applies to the third bit of CAI credit. Date is being jotted into my planner!

My friend who had worked with CRA (now retired ) just told me that it can take 6 weeks to change from cheques to direct deposit.
Hope this is not the case for me this month! I updated My Account on June 20 in advance of June 24 and summer holidays because I anticipated credit files were likely being compiled for the July credit dates.

I need a treat... in case I'm disappointed tomorrow.

Yes. Even if you just change bank account number for direct deposit to another bank account number, it can take 6 weeks.

So unless you see the DD being made in the new account, don't close the previous bank account. For a couple of months, the DD might still go to the old account.
