This link is to an interesting article on loss-leader marketing strategies.
Many companies do this to get brand loyalty, or secure more sales in the future.
Do you ever find that taking advantage of these deals leads you to have higher spending/expenses than what you would otherwise have had?

I buy what I like or need...
If I get a freebie and it is a good one, then yes they have me...That said, if I get something I do not like, then I will not buy this...
Don't think that I am spending more than if I would have never received it though...
That said, if I do like a product that much and it is a little higher than my regular brand, I will get suckered in that way, but I must also believe that the product is worth it or I would never purchase it in the first place...
Interesting marketing strategies though
I do think that I prefer companies that give samples, but more importantly are also are willing to back their products 100%

If I get the sample and I like it sure im more inclined to buy it the next time.
Esp if it was a bit more then i'd usually like to spend.
In the same breath though if I wouldn't of gotten the freebie I wouldn't of ever bought it, so its good that they did do samples.
If its grossly overpriced, then no I wouldnt buy it.

Nope....no matter how much I love a product, I won't buy it if it's too much. And I don't buy stuff on sale if it's not something that I'll use or give to someone.
