Mere Michel Bacon is usually priced at around $6.99 which is expensive. But when it came on sale for $2.99, i decided to buy it. I have to tell you it is a very very good bacon. It has some fat on it but not as much as Maple Leaf of Lafleur Bacons. And the taste is really good. i would recommend this bacon to anyone, but wait for the sale.

I am so picky about bacon....I hate paying for more white-fat than actually meat. Kirkland has the best bacon I have found....mind you it is more expensive, but worth it.

You two ^^^ are both right. I detest the amount of fat on most of the brands in the grocery stores.
I usually wait for any sale regardless it it's Schneider or Maple Leaf. I have even bought Giant Tiger's inferior brand , I think it was Carver? The bacon was in a big lumpy pile in the package.

Anyhow....I chose to stop pan frying bacon many years ago. Too messy, greasy pan to clean up.
Instead I spread out a 3 layer thick pad of paper towel, lay the strips on it, cover with a single paper towel and microwave on high for up to 6-7 minutes.
Six minutes would be if I am cooking more than 9 slices on the towel.
Cooks very crisp as I like it...or less so, with some chewiness the way DH prefers his.
No mess, i toss out the paper towels and almost all the fat is soaked into them.
