Thanks everyone. He had a human like personality and he was our kid especially since we couldn’t have our own.
@walkonby my mom and I actually talked about this yesterday and talked about the things Harley would say if he could speak. Kinda glad he couldn’t .
@cath007 sorry it’s such a long wait time for your dad. That seems to be the norm unfortunately nowadays. Dh is still on the waiting list just to get a call from an ophthalmologist and it’s been since July/August 2021. Granted it’s not critical but still it’s frustrating.

Good Morning Everyone,
Today feels like the perfect rainy, curl up on the couch, watch movies and eat junk/comfort foods. But, it is Monday.
As much as I would like to pretend it is not Monday, it is, I have been up working and doing all things for a few hours now. Let me just say it is stacking up to be a Monday, today is just one of those, huh, how did we do that type of days.
Lots of things I need to try to tackle around the house today, some should be quick and easy, others are a little more tricky. But it finally feels like we are starting to regain our house again.
Mom was talking to some of our neighbours yesterday and learned some interesting things.
The guy who did the work in our basements is not a handyman or general contractor, apparently he lives on the same stress as the guy who owns our property management company and said how easy the job would be (my guess is said others were over charging) and got the job.
Two units were not completed by him, one unit (the one he got into a fight with) refused to let him back in so property management came and did the final sanding and priming. Another unit did not get any work done as on the second day they refused him entry, they had told them their baby was sick and they would prefer he not keep coming in and out, the second day he showed up at 7:30 am and pounded on the door until he woke the whole house up and got in a fight with the wife so they refused to let him back in.
The other unit that was completed has issues with the work, not sure on the details but apparently they need some of the work done, fixed. Just another gong show, maybe we should have gotten a handyman or general contractor who would have done the job in the timely manager and correctly.
At this point, I am thankful our basement is done, we can reclaim our house and move on.
Now we wait for our walkway and stairs to be repaired.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I need to get out walking everyday. ( I hit my steps on both Sat and Sun so I need to keep at it) I feel so much better when I walk.
So I just went out even though it looked like it was going to rain. Got 15 mins in and home with the rain. Will go out again later
Kitchen is clean. Dinner is fend for yourself. I am taking my mother out for dinner for her birthday. Taking her to the casino (she likes it) and for dinner there. Nice to get her out of the house for a bit of fun.
I have clean sheets in the dryer. Will make the bed and tidy up bedroom. Pile of books on nightstand that needs to be dealt with! One I need to finish...1 chapter left then I can give to my friend to read. I've been trying to finish it for 2 years lolLast edited by Frugalbigmama; Mon, Jun 6th, 2022 at 01:14 PM.

Bed made with fresh bedding! Pulled out nightstands and cleaned. Found all my missing hair ties!!! And a few chargers lol.
So happy that is done!
Put a load of whites in the washer. Will pop in the dryer once done and then fold and put away. Wednesday I will put a load of darks and hang to dry (yoga pants, undies/socks etc)
Lunchtime! Having leftovers from dinner. A small baked potato, asparagus and BLSL chicken breast.

I ordered a bunch of mostly tops from Penningtons and Wal-Mart as I only have a couple of summer tops.
All of the tops from Wal-Mart were $10 - $14 each which was the price range I was looking for. I will admit as a plus size girl even just getting simple tank tops or t-shirts can be costly. I just wanted basic I can throw on for work especially on days I know I won't just be in the office, where I might have to go into a warehouse or something. Or basic simple shirts I can wear around the house.
From Wal-Mart in total I got 7 tops for just under $100.
Penningtons shocked me, they had a 40% + 20% off the sale price. I will admit I did find the selection was quite limited there were a number of things I could not get in my size or the colour I wanted was not on sale.
From Penningtons I got 2 top for me, 1 top for Mom and pair a of legging for each us for $60.
The good news, everything fit, I was shocked especially with Wal-Mart. I find their clothes are not true to size at times, I have literally had it were I try on one top in a 1X and it fit but in another top I need a 3X, they do not seem to have standard sizes.
The bad news, I totally was expecting to return some of it and spent a little more than I had planned.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Just got home from taking my mom out for a birthday dinner.
She had salmon with salad and homefries and chocolate cake. I had steak sandwich with salad. We each brought home leftovers. (free with comps)
We both left the casino winners! Was a great night out!
Topped my gas tank once I got home since gas is still cheaper here. Picked up DS ice cream. Kawartha Dairy- Moose tracks!
