Sobey's Dropping Air Miles in 2023

Sobey's will be phasing out Air Miles in 2023 and introducing Scene+ as their loyalty program.

We almost never hit up a Sobeys anymore ( too far to bother and prices are steep ) BUT, if I read the details about this change over in Loyalty Rewards we will soon be able to earn Scene points at Freshco! ( much better prices there and is closer to us ) .

Landing in Ontario stores as of Nov. 3. Use up your AM points instore for redemptions if you have a big shopping list to fill in near future. Remember some AM offers take a long time to surface on the card.

Before Sobeys ended with AirMiles in NOva Scotia, I redeemed all of my AirMiles for Sobeys gift cards. Unfortunately Sobeys prices are much higher than Atlantic Superstore so I am doing a lot more of my grocery shopping at Atlantic Superstore so the gift cards are pretty much unused still. Good thing is they do not expire.

@mulock Don't hesitate to check out any clearance sections in your Sobeys for deal finds. My store has them come and go but sometimes there are deals. Plus the occasional flyer deal too. And they have hot foods, so you might like to take dinner home for a break from making meals.

Nice that I can use a Scene+ card without having to register. I can get those members only deals at Sobeys/Freshco without having to commit to the program. Points do accumulate on a non-registered card but they can't be spent unless the card gets registered.

Freshco had these cards in a booklet by the checkouts.

Sobeys had the cardboard arch for the card and brochures. I put a brochure into my cart, thinking it was just info, then I realized there was a card inside. I put the brochure back (no plans to use program). I did however buy one of the new Scene+ reusuable shopping bags! Very cheery colourful logo!
