Bro got a bag of those Washington jumbo cherries at Food Basics for $3.49/lb. They looked great but the ones I ate-half had the juicy flavour and half did not. Bro was miffed when I told him Walmart had the same cherries on for $2.97/lb. Nonetheless, we ate the cherries within a half hour of their arrival. I was using my Mio water enhancers all day to make sure I was getting liquids into me plus a cold bottle of water (from last Friday's road trip).

Mom decided to pan-fry chicken meat and make mashed potatoes at the height of the heat in the afternoon. I made certain to leave Bro's small fan on low to help move the hot air out of the kitchen. Potatoes were great!

Managed to get a little of the grasscutting done in shaded areas in the morning before Ms Sunshine became BBQ Queen hot. Started some loads of laundry and hung them outside. Noticed one larged winged insect sheltered in frame of basement window for a few hours then when I approached it outside, it flew away. The heat must have felt too much for it as well.

In the morning, I intend to get to one grocery store and see what $15-$20 in snacks, fruit or bevvies can be purchased. Our last watermelon lasted a day with 4 small slice left overnight in fridge. I ate them in the early morning (so refreshing but the fruit was starting to turn as Mom had left the watermelon Sunday overnight in the kitchen...).

There's a severe storm warning/tornado watch for various parts of Ontario tomorrow afternoon. Make sure to secure any loose objects! Southwestern Ontario is going to see weather by 4pm, Toronto by 7pm and those of you out Barrie/London/Windsor way--watch the skies.

Good Morning! I hope we get a quick storm and push this heat somewhere else.

Dinner tonight- Greek BLSL chicken breasts on the bbq with grilled zucchini and salad.

Laundry needs some doing! Will unpack my suitcase after work and then get started on it.

When I stopped at Costco yesterday I noticed the capri yoga pants I bought 2 weeks ago were on sale so I made sure to get a credit on my way out. Credit of over $5 I think I will buy another pair when if I pop in another Costco near where I will be visiting this weekend. Then I will have 5 that I love!

I picked up another bag of cherries yesterday. I forgot to check out the large jar of Hellman's to see the expiry date so I will pop at RCSS on my way home.

    Stay cool!

@Frugalbigmama Glad you got food at the casino earlier this week. I saw headlines that eight casinos might have strike action by weekend if talks are not productive.

Ventured out just after 7:30am. Got the Woollite dark detergent at Food Basics (super cold and quiet store) and a US watermelon (juicy but no flavour and some of flesh has turned, sigh $10.99 avoid!), almond-coco beverage, a Pure Leaf iced tea bottle (lemonade hibiscus at $4.14), two sliced loaves of bread and two pkgs of seaweed snacks at Fortinos (had some customer traffic plus staff stocking so it was a mite busy). At least I brought a water bottle with some lemonade flavour-the heat was on by 8am.

Running some laundry loads and hanging them outside. The light coming into the house is getting watery looking even though sky is blue and there are white clouds. Will take a look for fallen branches and secure items soon. No chance of cutting grass-my energy got spent on the grocery walk.

I had glanced at the new Giant Tiger digital flyer before heading out. Did not see any particular food or produce item to tempt me. Will stop at the store another day to look at tops. Need to visit Walmart probably tomorrow for another stockup on first aid tape and bandages.

Have some surfaces to clean and to wipe down plus a few floorspaces needing sweeping or mopping. That should take care of the morning. Though I am craving buttered toast and jam (had only watermelon and water so far) right now...

Reminder on the July coupons expiring soon-the Longo's one for Schneiders meat pies and Cracker Barrel shredded cheese ones.

The big bubble mix container-definitely needs adult fingers to get the multi-loop wand out! My bottle had two safety seals as well. Lovely bubbles though!

The buttered toast and jam were good too. Had a second glass of iced tea with ice; now to switch to water only as that humidity on the main floor is a wall. Mr. Wind is definitely playing today (so glad for breeze but Humidity runs the place)-he's been picking up speed in the last hour.

    Time to get cleaning!

Its funny I rarely eat toast/butter toast/jam. But I have been craving it lately! Nice Rye toasted is so good. I guess because it is simple older people always seem to like it...I am getting older

Well I was not looking forward to work today at all but I buzzed through all my must do's and now I can actually get some stuff done and off my desk.
Should be a very productive day!

I really need a vacation. I have next Monday off. Then the last week of August off. Not sure I am going to make it till then. Hopefully I can take a few days off soon. Summer is flying by

DS son needed a ride home as he left his car at home this morning because he needed a boost but his room-mate was gone already.
We had to drive by a Foodland on the way so I stopped in there and told him to pick out some Kawartha Ice Cream. He doesn't eat it often but I told him it is summer time and he needs some in his freezer
