Today was a long but productive day. Kids and I cleaned up most of the main floor of the house. Swimming lessons again and more towels washed. Kids folded and put them away. I baked some refrigerated cookie dough that I bought for 99c at Sobeys. Used bananas from the freezer to bake 2 dozen banana muffins, which I’m sure the kids will start eating tomorrow morning.

I made some progress on my ELA 7 Halloween unit.

I texted a teacher who was previously given access to the cyber school’s science content when she had to teach the courses. It’s a relief to hear that it’s well laid out and organized. So it should be pretty good when I get access to it later in the week. I’ve been waiting for access to this stuff since June 30…a person didn’t do their job before leaving the country for a while. Hopefully I get everything that I need.

Locations in Alberta get 15% off on the first Tuesday of the month. Saskatchewan used to have 15% off when you buy more, or 10% off when you buy the minimum amount on that Tuesday. I’ll take what I can get.

Good Morning! Damp wet morning. Radio said it will be humid day but that Friday and Sat will be nice! I will take it.
Will text DS to close the windows at home when he gets up. Not sure if we will have to put the AC on.

Brought all my food for the day to work.
Breakfast- cream of wheat with almond milk and fresh blueberries
Lunch- Leftovers- veggies, a few potatoes and steak
Snack- Cucumber and a Greek yogurt

Funny when you eat healthy it always feels like so much food. But it is good food

I was happy with what I got done around the house yesterday. Tonight I will put away the clean laundry.
Then I will grab a box and gather all the odds and ends in the spare room. (DS's computer stuff) Sweep and then I may putty the holes in the wall. (We had a gigantic flatscreen mounted) If I do something everyday in there it will get done

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Super humid today but lots of rain so that’s good. I am super busy making sure everything is ready for our road trip. Kids fly out later so that’s all coordinated. I decided to take the ferry across to Nova Scotia. It’s expensive but it saves 300 km and 4 hours in the car and it will be fun.
I am still waiting on the freezer repair and the oven decided to Whig out on us. Thankfully I have a great gas appliance guy and it was fixed for 250.00. But it’s 13 yrs old so I guess I need to get ready to replace it.

Humidity today-pancake city. I put on two different fans at different times in the afternoon, as there was not much noticeable breeze moving indoors despite the sheer curtains moving and blowing out with the air.

Soaking 10min rain around 5pm, another one within the hour and rain/thunderstorm closer to 9pm. Hope all that moisture helps the farmers with their crops this month! I want Ontario cherries. Bro got some US ones and I found 4 pairs of attached cherries and variable flavour in the first bowlful. Had a second bowlful when I had snack cravings.

Not thrifty when I spent $5.99 and $6.99 on two packages of cold cuts on monday but as of tonight, they are eaten. Guess I had a huge need for protein-simple to make sandwiches and avoid cooking anything. Not much in house for snacking. Pears are turning, the last banana is about mush and there's no watermelon. Need to go to the store but I hurt a lot. Sigh-food is not going to come home just because of me thinking about it.

Have you seen the weekend forecast? High 30sC and even 40C (after humidity). Yikes. There better be good winds in the 20+kph range or another round of pancaked people is coming.

Community paper bundle-had most grocery flyers but not the new Longos one (they tend to be biweekly and maybe show up once per month).

@HermanH The 3 bathrooms are separate rooms that are accessible bathrooms at that particular library branch. No worries about bag snatching here! I have not had issues with bag grabs at libraries yet, just people trying to get into my occupied stall because not everyone bends to look for feet under the stall doors. Most people turn right at the first stall.

Your point is valid at just about any transit terminal restroom/department store restroom. I used to get the heebie-jeebies at the old GO bus terminal on Bay Street-3 stalls, rickety door locks and dim lighting. Usually one stall was out of service or in the worst state. Hamilton GO bus terminal-dim blue lighting and wonky door hooks or locks, plus slow as molasses hand dryers. I try to place an umbrella over any bag or coat on the hook to thwart any grabs.

The steel stall doors on Cityside women's bathroom stalls at Square One shopping centre (Mississauga) are taller and lower than the usual mall/library variety stall doors. Think it was intended to minimize grab and runs but the impact is of being in a locker while using the restroom. I have never asked my sibling if the men's room has similar doors on its stalls.

10% off Tuesday is only one day a month, the first Tuesday of the month.

TGIF!!! Well I thought the humidity was going to be gone for the weekend but apparently not.
A beach night for sure!! Just sent the text out to gather the gang

I finally ran the dishwasher last night. The kitchen was spotless. DS will empty it today. I left him a nice reminder

The watermelon at Walmart are HUGE. What a deal. $2.67 I think it was!

Have a wonderful and safe weekend!

You have to take the ferry- that is part of the adventure/vacation! Have a wonderful time! I haven't been out East since I was a kid but it is on the bucket list for a road trip for sure!

oh yeah I forgot to mention that I bought one of the pork loins on for $1.99Lb at No Frills last night. Paid $10 and change so 5LBS.
Went home and cut 4 pork chops and then the rest in to chunks. I have 4 packages in the freezer for future meals.
Chicken is so expensive and honestly hard to find so this is what I am going to stock us up on. We can still make stir fry

I caught Mom cooking beets about an hour ago and scolded her to turn the stove off. The kitchen feels like a huge sauna-not a good thing as the air is still not really circulating during the hot/sticky times of the day. Early morning and after 8pm, there's a noticeable cooling movement of air.

While Mom got some produce on her errand run, no one (not even me) had obtained ice cream.

Today I have had 3 hot flashes, all occurring within 10min of eating spicy taco meat or a seasoned grilled chicken. I recognized the dry heat in my upper torso and thin sheen of perspiration on my face for what it was. I'm ready to melt, folks...

The outdoor clotheslines continue to show that spotted greenish-black residue in big droplet form (or sooty rain). It's like tree sap has bonded to soot/bbq particles and stuck onto the lines, making them vaguely camoflague lines. I'm spending about 5min per line using a soapy sponge to remove most of it. My hands and the sponge get covered in fine black stuff and I have to repeatedly wash out the sponge between cleanings. Looking forward to the rain coming next Monday!

Good news for SCers in the Burlington area-next Tuesday, there's a Repair Cafe event at the outdoor market in Aldershot. You'll need to bring parts for the item(s) you want repaired and e-mail the group so it knows you are attending. https://www.facebook.com/Burlington....n__=%2CO%2CP-R
SCers who can score parts via Value Village and are seniors can benefit from the Senior's Discount in-store on Tuesday!
